One Mans Thoughts on Global Warming
My thoughts on the issue of global warming and human nature.
I understand the hype surrounding Global Warming. We (humans) as a race possess a self perpetuating flaw. That flaw is simply this. We must find a cause and perpetuate that cause ad nauseam. Now, I am not saying that we have not had any effect on the environment, I am only stating that we cannot have it both ways. Confused, good, then you are in good company, if you were inclined to consider me good company. I will try to explain this in a more clearly understood manner.
I am certain that anyone reading this has heard at least one opinion on global warming. Most, or at least his family, has seen Al Gores documentary, which I will not even dignify by typing the letters that form its name. Mr. Gore, I believe, started out with a noble idea, saving the earth. However, somewhere along the line he crossed into the land of this self perpetuating flaw that we all possess. Many of you are probably now cursing my name and saying that I must not care what happens to this rock on which we reside. Or that I have no concern for the well being of my children, grandchildren, etc… or the family of badgers that plays on your lawn on particularly warm summer evenings. Nothing could be further from the truth. My issue is not with saving the planet, no, I think that is a worthwhile and noble venture. My issue instead is with Mr. Gore and his ever changing view of “global warming”.
I give you this fact to validate my point. We just came out of the coldest November, globally, in recorded history. Not to mention that, depending on whom you choose to believe, the planet has actually been cooling for years. If Mr. Gore were dead he would undoubtedly be rolling in his grave, screaming that this makes his point all the more intriguing. You see, Mr. Gore has recently changed his global warming label to “climate change”. Okay, I am not a scientist nor a physicist, rocket scientist or even weatherman, but I am a reasonably intelligent person with the ability to discern. I ask, how can there exist an allegedly manmade condition that causes both global warming and global cooling. I would like to experiment, perhaps build an oven large enough to contain a refrigerator. Now, if I were able to build this contraption, and able to construct it from materials that would not melt or crack depending on how the experiment progressed, would I be capable of producing an environment that would heat and then cool to extremes. This thought has caused me great unrest, I am not able to sleep, I cannot eat, consequently I have managed to sustain myself on chewing gum, peanuts and a very unhealthy quantity of coffee.
You see, I cannot fathom a situation in which these extreme conditions coexist in a way in which one has caused the other to occur. I don’t think the idea of heating my oven to a point that causes to begin cooling is truly feasible. Perhaps I have managed to oversimplify the situation to the point of being ridiculous. Which brings me to this point. I believe, and this is just one mans humble opinion, that Mr. Gore and his environmental mafia have overcomplicated this issue to the point of being ridiculous. So, having said all of that, I leave you to consider my thoughts and to develop thoughts of your own. My only hope is that you will not become like the lemmings who have latched on to this self perpetuating flaw, as I have become quite fond of calling it, rather that you will consider my ramblings and for the sake of fairness, those of Mr. Gore, and draw your own conclusions. Hopefully, having done this, you will sleep, eat and drink your coffee in a more peaceful state of mind.
