Orwellian Republicans
The rise of Big Brother…
In a recent article from the Triangle Free Press discussed the Republicans in North Carolina working to gradually remove all funding from public education and approving the introduction of charter schools in the state. Yet, one such school K-12, Inc., is actually based in Colorado, because North Carolina has no need to try and invest in North Carolina. Why would they? It makes sense to send another state such money.
But I digress.
It also seems that in the infinite wisdom of the Congress of NC, that through their “reforms” of the education system, the state of North Carolina is now 49th in the nation for per pupil spending. Outstanding job there guys! Keep up the good work. Maybe we can let you be in charge of the military spending, and cut that down to where we only have two soldiers per city and a tank for every state. And we can have a singular plane that hasn’t been flown since the 1970’s!
What’s wrong with you people! You’re not suppose to cut spending to schools! That’s how we get idiots, and there’s way to many of them in this country already due to the cuts you’ve already made. And of course, liberal education, why should we have that? Students…thinking outside of the box….How absurd? They might come up with new ideas, and better ways of living. And who would want that?
And it probably wouldn’t be so bad, if it wasn’t so apparent that these guys in the GOP are relying on the fruits of their cutting of the education system, to dumb down the general population in order to have their ideologies and political theories accepted by a large group of people. Look at the media, both left and right. It’s not even news anymore, it’s just entertainment used to satisfy the dulled minds of this generation. And it’s not just in the news. Look at Bravo, that channel used to have opera suited for children so they could be exposed to arts and culture. Now look at it, it’s filled with models and bimbos. Congrats guys, you’re now media whores. You should be proud.
And why is this Orwellian you may ask? I’ll tell you. You ever read ANIMAL FARM? If you haven’t then pick up a copy, it’s a great book. And if you have then you can see similarities with the dumbing of the people to the pigs dumbing the animals in order to secure their hold on them. And by pigs, I mean swine, though the GOP is starting to act pretty similar to their literary counterparts.
And how on earth is taking money away reforming a system? You don’t remove the means to better the problem. You add more to it. Unless you’re a person who has no idea how public funding works, or with the idea that better educated people have better/higher paying jobs (WHICH MEANS THEY PAY HIGHER TAXES!!!) then you can see just how much of a bad idea this is. I came from the LAUSD, and they had books for American History where the books stopped at the Kennedy Assasination and that Viet-Nam was gonna be a great success for America…..Yeah that is bad. Thank you Reagan.
Long Story short, this defunding of schools is a bad idea. A very bad idea. Like let’s piss off the bear just to see how mad we can make it bad.
