On the heroism in boxing.

Two days after the fighting pride of the Philippines, boxing legend, Manny “Pacman” Paquiao, had relentlessly demolished Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico, the Filipinos, from all walks of life can’t help but celebrate the sensational boxing victory of the Philippine jewel. How much did he earn and who’s gonna be the next opponent?

What is more  heart beating, not only to Manny Paquiao but to the entire Filipino nation , as well, is hte sports analyst’s  declaration that  Manny Paquiao is the greatest boxer in the era. Paquito, is the only boxer in the whole world, to have collected championship belts in 7 different weight division, an extra – ordinary achievement in his boxing career over shadowing the records of the great boxing legends like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and others.

For a country, like Philippines, where politics and poverty remain a serious concern of the government, the honor brought by Manny Paquiao to the country is something the lifts the Filipino spirit up from the rubbles. In sentiment, politicians and simple individuals in the Philippines unite for the victory of their boxing hero. Believe it more, even  hardened criminals intentionally paused a break  on their criminal activites everytime  Manny fights.

For the Filipinos, Paquiao is the best exemplar of undying fighting spirit, any people needs against all odds and adversities. He has defeated all the great Mexican boxing legends like Marco Anotonio Narrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and  Morales. He has proved that the speed  and strategy can defeat a bigger and more powerful opponent.

What more Pacman can prove? He has conquered serious odds in his life- poverty, illiteracy and even his own self.

Surprisingly, for Paquiao, he is no boxing great. “When I think of what I’ve achieved in boxing, even for me, it’s unbelievable”Paquiao declared during his post fight interview.

The fighting spirit and perseverance showed by Manny Paquiao served as good example not only to the Filipinos but to all the people out there. Poverty and the lack of education is not a hindrance to become a hero, in our own right.

God bless the Philippines.…..
