Part-time Jobs
The thought of a part-time job came into my mind after a two-month training in English communitcation skills in one of a Business Processing and Outsourcing company. As a mother, I believe it is my one of my responsibilities to assist my family and take care the needs of my son, a college student. I consider becoming my own boss by tutoring primary level students in English, a part-time reflexologist and a home-based agent of a BPO company. With three part-time jobs, I managed to budget my time wisely so I have also time for my family. It’s like awarding myself because I make money than a conventional job and I have flexible hours.
Some might not agree but this takes a great deal of planning and investments. Before a training in BPO company, I studied Basic Reflexology and Basic Computer; and my effort’s really worth what I’m hoping for. There are various ways I find clients; through community contacts, friends, relatives, business acquintances, church and religious groups. I advertised my services by registering in website for free, publishing in a local newspaper and by printing calling cards. When everything was set up and goes well, my service business provides profitable and convenient work.
By performing service oriented jobs, I found out that I can make more than the minimum wage. My elderly clients pay often higher than I expected when servicing them for an hour massage therapy. Although I only charge $2.5 tutoring English, my other job as a home-based agent is worth than what I have expected.
I see that the possibilities for making money, depends on how enterprising and how concientous a person is. Rather than a stressful office job, I prefer a part-time than a conventional job.
