Pity Filipinos Who are Called Monkeys
Advices for those who mock Filipinos, you better know their roots first.
How many of us have heard the terms Filipinos or mail order brides from the Philippines and so on? Probably everyone already heard because wherever we are, there are always Filipinos around in all continents probably. Some of them have either bad or good reputations but do you ever wonder who these people are and what are their cultures before you say any bad words about them?

I am a Filipino-Chinese living in Japan with two beautiful Japanese-Filipino brothers and a cute son, pretty complex but I still am proud of my roots. My mother is from Cebu, Philippines and even if we stayed in Japan for so long, I still love the country where we originally from and understand how the citizens are. Our family happened to belong to those intermarriages type of scenario. To be honest, not all of our traits can be well understood by people probably even neighboring countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. We are a unique nation and, like any other nations; we embrace both good and bad cultures but are this good ground for us to deserve discrimination from foreigners?
Who are Filipinos?
If you can still remember our world history, Philippines used to be a rich abundant place with early settlers from South Pacific people, these are people close to complexions of Polynesians, Micronesians and Melanesians. If those people are unfamiliar to you, you can hit Wikipedia for it.
Philippines was like any other archipelago with no name until Christopher Columbus’ people asked Magellan to go on an expedition to look for another place to get sources of natural resources and to extend territory and spread Christianity. In 1512, Magellan arrived in Central Philippines (Visayas area) and started to settle in the entire Philippines. Magellan brought Spanish tradition and named this archipelago Philippines after King Philip II, the reigning king during that time of expedition as a sign that this country is a territory of Spain. For 333 years, Spain colonized the country enslaving the native settlers and deprived them with the proper human rights and provisions. They were treated none other than slaves except those that are from original rich families or if women are pretty and lucky enough to be wives of those Spanish people.

amen to that.. being there before the culture is very diverse not of nationality but of character and its ability to stand on its on and govern themselves.. i have explore most of what is consider to be the worst part of philippines; the southern part, but i can tell you that there is nothing more dangerous than walking down the wrong alley of a bad neighborhood in the united states.. the majority are humble and very entertaining host for the seeds of apples dont come with just one but many for never judging the impurities of the nation but its resilince to stand back up and dust itself off.. Sorry for the floods of the storms and do know that the States has a hand in whatever needed supply to help regain the stature of a great place.. As one in a race of Human we must stand together to live with each and accept each other misfortunes.. Eric Smithers.. U.S. Army Japan.

great post.. there are lot of things also that we Filipinos should be thankful for.. like our skin color.. our skills, our creativity and mostly our love for our country and our people… even if we dont have all the amenities in life.. the BAYANIHAN before in were our ancestors carry houses from one place to another.. is still very much alive —- and it shows how we help each other in this trial that our country are facing… giving donations… clothes.. cash.. manpower… everything are all acts of BAYANIHAN… this is one thing Im proud to be a FILIPINO..

Thanks! This is so touching. Proud to be Filipino! To anyone who keeps belittling the Philippines, just remember you are in no position whatsoever to insult us. Everyone has their good and bad side. So stop thinking you are superior because no one can ever replace HIM and HE knows everything.

Filipinos ROCK. Spain WAS wrong to enslave filipinos during that time. Just like how they ”Celebrate” Columbus day. Columbus DID NOT DISCOVER AMERICA he was lost. Philippines is a beautiful, and tropical country. don’t make fun of pinoys, because you never know what will happen. Philippines was civilized, but spain just did that. This is coming from A HALF-FILIIPINO(Mestisa) AND IM PROUD

I love the post. I don’t understand how anyone would mock or say something negative about Filipinos. I am Korean who is married to Filipina, and they are the most fun and hospitable people I’ve ever met. Every nationality has something positive and negative, and there’s not one who’s better than the other because God created us equal.

“The Filipina is the last real woman left on earth.. the last real woman. She’ll do anything for you. Anything. You name it, eh? She’ll do it. Give you a shower, wash the dirty panties… She’ll do anything for you. And, she’s STUPID! Stupid like a monkey!”
