Quarter Life Crisis

This stage of life is a reflection stage, of two very different periods in our lives typically over a ten year period.

Quarter life crisis, is this genuine, or the scourge of the middle class late twenty something year old, dealing with the decade in retrospect? Quarter life crisis is a concept or should I say a term that has been bouncing about the blogosphere for some time, if you are a middle class late twenty something year old, typically a university graduate you would have heard of it. But what is it? is it really a problem to the general population of the late twenty something year old as they go about their daily life or an excuse for some of the middle class “no longer kids” to have a rant and a rave about nothing?

Quarter life crisis can be defined or explained in any number of ways, I will only try to break it down in this article, the way to look at it depends a lot on the way you look at life in general “do you see the glass as half full or half empty”.

This stage of life is a reflection stage, of two very different periods in our lives typically over a ten year period, an earlier stage when you were younger, say late teens to about twenty one, where you could live for the moment or should I say live in the moment and ten years later when you start to think, what went wrong? I should have it all by now, the big house, car, and family, career I love position in society, adoration from all and of course be a millionaire, if you are still vain, you wonder why you are not one of the beautiful people.

So you have not achieved the agenda on your life plan, this was not how it was supposed to be, and then you begin to wonder, and question your very existence. Am I a looser? Was just bad luck? Or dare I say lack of planning and therefore there was no real life plan to start with, it was all just a fallacy.

How did I get from the loving all stage, to I hate my life right now? A dark and painful realization creeps in, the burning fire inside you, the rage and zest for all things good out of life, is now just a flicker of flames as the big three zero looms.

It can also be described as an acknowledgement of your under achievement and a realization that it never will, but gratefully there is a good side to analyzing the decade in retrospect, because above all else, it is a chance to re-evaluate your goals, this is a real advantage over having a mid life crisis, as you are still young enough to make real changes to your life, and you don’t need to embark on a journey of self discovery to recapture your youth as you still have it .

So what now? You don’t have the money for a Ferrari , well I find that most people just blog, yes the typical solution the late twenty something year old in quarter life crisis has discovered is blogging , so there you go, get blog happy and get a life.

Yes you are so very right. At this point one can get down to the brass tacs. Good piece. Food for thought.
