See No Truth, Hear No Truth, Speak No Truth

What is truth? are the lines between truth and untruth becoming increasing blurred. Are the consequences of truth causing us to not see, not hear and not speak the words and reality that we live.

What is it about the truth? There is something in that word that ultimately say, “this is it” “finally we can get to the bottom of it”, the “tell all story” under the lies. The truth eludes to something we didn’t already know, is it the last fact to come out and if so why.

The lines of truth and lies or truth and untruth seem to have become increasingly blurred that now one seems to believe that the adding of the words “The truth” in fact makes it the truth. Or is it simply the most popular version of any idea or story.

Is there an absolute truth or just absolutely no conscience to right and wrong? In fact right and wrong have become an assumption, they are an opinion, a watered down jumble of words, somebody’s best defense, or simply a front put up by the person with the loudest voice or simply the most money.

So what is going on here? Perhaps we need a fresh revelation of truth. Perhaps we all need a good brain washing to rid our minds of the dirt and pollutants that somehow have blurred our vision on what is acceptable and what’s not. Perhaps we need to clean out our ears and replace the filters, or shock horror, perhaps we need to choose not to participate in the ripping apart and tearing down of others, those we know in our homes, in our neighborhood or at the office, or those we don’t in the celebrity magazine’s. Perhaps in the latter you believe that it doesn’t matter. We don’t know these people, or, is it the practice of such habits that we need to saved from, so, this doesn’t become a part of our everyday lives.

Desperate Housewives is a hugely popular mainstream Television program. If it were simply comic relief then perhaps it would be funny, but, this behavior has rapidly become accepted in everyday life, are we allowing ourselves to become desensitized to the truth, is it more acceptable to shroud our lives in lies as a result of living in a society that watches shows like this.

It has been said, “you are what you eat” perhaps this saying applies here. If we consume a daily diet of gossip magazines celebrity internet watch afternoon soaps and desperate housewives at night will the lines of right and wrong be blurred? Will we begin to believe that this is what is install for us in life too. Will we think when things begin to be difficult in our relationships or start to break down, that it’s just because “that”s eventually what happens to everyone anyway.’ Do we simply succumb to an outcome of destruction with little more than all round “it happens to the best of us” even from our friends. Shouldn’t we fight! Shouldn’t we be putting on the gloves and saying “No, I am rewriting this conclusion; the end is in fact the beginning. It is not predictable, it is not a product of lies, I am seeing the truth and getting on with it.
