Seniority: The Best Time of Life 1
How the golden years are really golden.
Listen up Seniors; stop grumbling and take off the rose coloured glasses you use when facing pastwards. Let’s reflect on life; real life.
When was the happiest time of life? I’m not talking a five minute incident, I’m talking about generally. Talking about consistently.
Childhood?
Let’s think about childhood. How many children want to be children?
Every child; “I wish I was grown up,” ”I wish I was older,” you know why?
Being a child is like being in prison.
Not only is everything decided for you, (you don’t even have a vote) you don’t have any means to escape, (except if you ‘act out’ then you might wind up getting another adult, (therapist) to cut into what is left of your free time)
Remember childhood? Woken up for school, where you were locked in for the whole day? Then home for Homework and then dinner, then a bit of T.V. before being sent to bed? Hmmm? And what about those ‘activities’ your parents used to get rid of you? Extra Lessons? Summer Camp? Whatever to prevent you just being able to decide; “What do I want to do now?”
When you’re a kid you can’t even decide what you want to eat. “This is good for you…” and there is something lying on a plate. And if you don’t want it, one long drama. And dressing? Your parents buy your clothes and tell you what to wear.
As you move into the ‘Tween’ time, this domination really starts to get to you, so there are constant battles with your parents which increase when you become a Teenager.
Let us remember the torture of High School. A few of you might recall it as your ‘golden years’….this means that your life has been all downhill since then. The Majority, however, remember it as the most regimented, stressful period of their lives.
Remember the Class Queens who made fun of your clothes? How about the Jocks who laughed at you? How about not knowing what you liked or didn’t until you received your opinion from one of your avatars?
Remember saying things you didn’t mean, going places you didn’t like,e all to gain the accolade of ‘cool?’
Sure, we were luckier than those born in the past fifteen years, because we did know the answer. The answer was ‘No’. And since the answer was ‘No’ the question didn’t need to be asked.

LOL,Oh My dear, I have lived through it all and you have your own brand of problems and joys at every stage. There is no best or worst age. Each stage has it’s pros and cons. It equals out over the long run.And we have very little choice unless we die young. I enjoyed the read and your idea of aging.

When I was fourteen and came out with some brilliant remark, no one listened. When I was twenty four, men would smile with that serpentine lust. When I was thirty four, people would pretend they didn’t hear if they didn’t agree. When I was fourty four, people started to listen. Now, they ask for advice.
