Happiness is a choice.
Many, especially Generation Me, would conclude that human body’s ability to cope with trauma is nature’s way of preserving life. However, it seems more like the human ego is so large that it must move on after encountering large obstacles because it feels destine to. Then it “cooks the facts” to blame its desire for preservation on nature even though nature is usually the obstacle that threatens life, not the promoter of it. Most humans prepare for pain that they know is coming however they are unable to properly guess how they will recuperate from the trauma. Quite often this distress can be masked with the right explanation generated from half-truths but the best way to feel happy would be to learn from ones self by reflecting on the traumatic experiences. People are unable generate their own happiness though because they feel cheap and dishonest when they knowingly twist the facts. A true pursuit of happiness would be easily found by diving right into new situations disregarding the fear of the outcome but most people fear action more than inaction. For now humans will cooperate with the cameraman, pretend to be happy, and smile because subconsciously they know that when they look back at the photo they will reassure their large egos that there is meaning in their existence.
