Society (and All of It’s Problems)
I am writing this article because I feel that there are serious flaws in the American society. I hope that you will read this article, and that it makes you think.

Society today is not a kind thing. People are constantly judged on the way they look, what they believe in, who they date, and what they think. The thing is, this is wrong. It shouldn’t matter what color your skin is, or if you are into same-gender relationships. Why must we constantly judge one another on what we see on the outside, and not have the common sense to see beneath the surface? Why can someone not want to save the environment without being a ‘hippie’ or a ‘tree hugger?’ Why can someone not be religious and not shove their ideals down other’s throats? And why does it matter if someone is female and loves another girl? Frankly, I don’t see how it’s anyone else’s business but her own.
I feel that these are all quite important questions that I don’t really have any answers to. I know that no one is perfect, and to quote Avenue Q, “everyone is a little bit racist”. But I also think that a whole lot of people out there just don’t care about others. And that is sad. Are we, the American public, forcing ourselves into an age where being a sociopath is the norm? Is that what we are devolving into? Is that what we want other cultures to think of us? Really? Well, I would just like to say that I am glad that there are still some people out there who care enough to try. And to open their minds to those of us that are differant than what society dictates is normal. So, I salute you, the ones who care! The ones who take in little puppies off the streets. The ones who have a best-friend that is gay, and who have supported them throughout the trials that they have undoubtably faced. The ones who recycle your empty water bottle, instead of throwing it into the trash. So, please, help other Americans realise that it their duty to their friends, their family, their country, their world, to not allow the idealisms of society to stop them from doing what is right, and from being themselves.
