Technology: Human Savior vs. Terminator

This generation of teens are very much different than their predecessors. I should know, being one myself. it is not that we are in any way shape or form better than them, it is that the tools that we are subject to allow us to be immersed in information that was just outside the reach of most people thirty or so years ago. Now this dramatic change in media sparks up a problem. Is too much technology going to corrupt and destroy the world as we know it today? Many people think that the massive advances in scientific and mathematical technology will bring about the end of days as we know it. There have been profound discoveries in fields of science, just one example being that in ten year we will be able to replicate the thought power and emotional contrast of the human brain all on computers.

Yet can too much science be a break in the moral code that holds up the fabric of society? When does pure science become playing god? There is some controversy on the subject between who I like to call the conservative tech and the liberal tech. The conservative tech want to keep all clean and good, one example of this is that they want to eliminate abortion, while the liberal techs think that it is the choice of the couple.

Whichever choice is correct there is definitely a downside to the advances we have made. We are already seeing trouble popping up in society in the form or nuclear missiles. There is a big tension in the air now that north Korea has the technology to build and deploy the projectiles. Who knows what will come of this situation, needless to say that if something is not done our world as we know it will be in an extremely depressing situation. Who is to blame? No one, the way that things are going are just a result of a technological boom, we’ve advance more in thirty years than two hundred years before. This much of a leap is a sign that in years to come the world as we know it will advance so quickly that people will not need to use anything but their brains, and will be able to get everything they want at the click of a button, not to say that its not possible now, but imagine how much more there will be.

There came a point in my life, being raised Christian that I began to question my faith. I realized that there was a god, but not necessarily in the form of the bearded man throwing lightening bolts and striking down wrong doers. I then looked at many of the people who said that they were visited by “angels” and many of these descriptions told of the beings coming down in massive flying objects. This brings up the question, how do we distinguish extremely advanced technology and supreme beings. Meaning if these ancient men really did see these people coming down in flying objects what’s not to say that they are super advanced beings from another planet that came here to try to point humans in the right direction. Needless to say if we do not man up and fix our problems or some alien beings come to help us we may see the end of the world as we know it coming very soon.
