The Decline of the World

Commercial Activity

It seems like commercial activities is what drives the world nowdays.  Nothing is done without there being some type of gain for someone.  Lets look at Christmas.  You look in the shop windows, house lights, and in people homes and what do you see?  Santa Clause and a stack of presents!  If an alien were to visit the planet during the Christmas period, they would think the world worships a large, oversized old man with a white beard all dressed in red who rides a sleigh pulled by wierd creatures.  What has happened to the story of the Birth of Jesus?  What has happened to the Son of God being born in a manger?  Where is the Star?  Now it’s all about money, money and more money.

Lets also look at Easter.  Once more, in the shops all you will see is chocolate as far as the eye can see.  The big focus on Easter now is an extra long weekend with two days off work and the possibility of eating as much chocolate as you want.  Once more, the true purpose of Easter has been lost.  No focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus, no focus on new life, no thought on this glorious event.  What has gone wrong with the world?

Values and Morals

I think if you were to ask a youth or children today what the word moral meant they wouldn’t have a clue.  There is no thought given to morality anymore.  The majority of movies these days contain sex, drugs, swearing and a whole list of morality issues.  Clothing has changed so much that it now seems that the cost of an item of clothing goes up as the amount of fabric used is decreased.  Where is everyones decency?  Guys and girls dress more like prostitutes these days with no thought for there own self-respect and self-worth. 

What has happened to respecting your elders?  Youth and children these days have no respect for anyone.  If these are going to be our future leaders in politics, education, health, infrastructure and everything else out there then we are in big trouble.  Everything will come crashing down with how these youth currently act.

Truth

Truth seems to be more a topic of debate than actual fact.  With the whole equal rights and equality thing it seems that what is true and real is a matter of opinion.  It is as if one person will hold up an apple and say it is an apple but a million people will argue that it’s a banana, or an orange or that it isn’t even a fruit!  Without truth, the whole world crumbles (hmm, maybe thats why the world is the way it is?).  Truth is something that never changes and has never changed throughout time.  Lies now are spread abroard about everything and the value of honesty and truth has diminished.  What a sad place we live in.

Rich and Poor

This is one of the biggest issues that has brought about the decline of the world.  The rich get richer because of their greed and selfishness while the poor suffer.  There is enough of everything in the world for everyone to get by, the only problem is people!  People are too selfish and don’t want to think about others but themselves. 

I heard on the news that the USA government has enough releif funds to pay out 90% of their residents mortgages but are they going to help them and do that – no!  They are going to help big business to stablilise and take advantage of others once more.

The world has been in decline for many years now.  Unless everyone takes a step back and re-evaluates whats going one, we will reach a point where it is too late to change.  God help us!
