The Disposable Country

Not only do people in the U.S.A. waste but things that force waste.

Have you ever noticed how easy it is for people to throw things out?  Are there any items out there that are meant to last for years?  It seems that many things, no matter where it is made, hardly last. Even the clothes for children don’t survive for them to outgrow.  Items that children play with break easily or are found to be unsafe. Every time some is found unsafe either items or food people are told to return the thing or throw it out. At least some of the things will decay in the land fill especially the food items.  There are so many people who don’t have the bear necessities. Spring cleaning Is a dangerous time for the land fills.  Here comes the clothes that someone just doesn’t want anymore.  There are even ones thrown out with the tags still on, never worn.  There are so many people that could put those to good use.  UNFORTUNATELY, MOST ARE TO LAZY TO TAKE THE THINGS TO A PLACE WHERE THE ITEMS CAN BE PUT TO USE.  PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE THAT MANY ORGANIZATIONS WILL PICK THE THINGS UP IF THE ITEM CAN STILL BE USED BY OTHERS.  IT IS NOT HELPFUL TO THESE PLACES IF THEY ARE GIVEN THINGS THEY HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DISPOSED OF.  Children today need to learn how to do more than recycle.  They need to help clean up the country.  Their parents need to start to turn their way of doing things around.  Many were taught if it breaks throw it out and buy a new one.  They have to look into whether it can be fixed first.  If not throw it out properly.  It’s been bad enough that things like computers get out dated fast.  Does that mean it belongs in the landfills?  There are places that will take those out dated ones and make them useable for people that can’t afford one otherwise.  Some place give them to children for free. These are better than nothing.  Schools now are requiring that the student print out or put it on a disc their work or fail.  Of course they can do it at the library but that cost money.   Sure colleges are starting to give them out but that doesn’t help the lower grade student.  Now for the television.  When the switch of the television system sure caused a lot of dangerous things to be thrown out.  Did anyone stop to think where all these televisions would wind up.  Those can not be recycled like the computer.  At this point there are people that are now without one because of the new system.  Aside from the fact that there are still problems with it. ARE THOSE UNWANTED, USELESS TELEVISIONS BEING DISPOSED OF IN A SAFE WAY?  Next time you go to throw something out, think about where it can be used.  Does it really belong in a landfill?  Is there an organization out there that could give it to someone?
