The Good Old Days: Then and Now
The old days or the new days? Which days are better? What if we lived like the people of the past generations had? That’d be complete torture. There have been many changes between then and now.
Type of Dance
In older generations, when you walk into a so called “club,” you see a dance floor with couples doing dances like the foxtrot, the swing, the tango, and many other forms of dance which involve a man and a woman working as one. The movements which they make are patterns which allow you to add your own “spice” to the dance style and have fun at the same time. In our day, you walk into a club, and you are greeted by pounding loud music, drunken friends, and the dance floor which includes break dancers, people grinding, and people doing their own style of dance. The types of dance of today allow creativity, imagination, and most importantly the chance to express yourself in your own way. Both styles of dance are styles that have many different and obvious positive things about them.
Technology
The change in technology over the past generations has definitely not one that will go unnoticed. There have been so many different and successful changes throughout the past few years that have helped create an easier life in the area of technology for many people.

Computer has definitely changed for the better in the past decades. We have gone from a slow computer with bad quality and a small screen, to a high-speed portable laptop which has many great features with great quality. You used to have very few programs to do on the computer, but now there are millions of programs to download and use with the click of the mouse. Many people very strongly rely on their computers for a lot of things. The hold a lot of their business and private information and without a reliable computer these would be at risk. A while ago the only thing they trusted their computer for would be that they could always count on it to take out a lot of time from their day due to delays and slow loading. Without the advancement of the computer, our world would be very different today. Without great technology we would not have as many successful businesses.
Music Player
Whether you have an I-touch, a video iPod, or even a knock off mp3 player, all of these things are great improvements to what people used to listen to their music with. A while ago, there used to be only a few ways to listen to your music. There was a record player like the one pictured, or there was the radio. Neither of these was very convenient with traveling, or for listening to a mix of your own music. Today, there are many different styles of portable music players in which you can create your own playlists and pick which music to listen to when and where it is convenient. There has definitely been a huge change for the better in the technology of music players. This is the most used items for music because now, most people don’t buy CDs since they can buy them off of iTunes.
Communication
Without being able to communicate with people miles away easily would create many problems. Our lives would be very different and difficult at that. There have been great upgrades in the area of communication that allow for immense an change for the better.
Short Messages
A long time ago, sending just a short simple message actually turned out to be a long and painful process. The message would not even be received right away. In the present time, a short message can be sent and received in under a minute. With new ways of communication, whether you use text messaging or email, sending a quick message is painless and fast. This advancement in communication has created an easier way of propelling a message from one person to another.
Long Conversations
When you have a long conversation, is it easier to hold two big pieces, a speaking piece and an ear piece, or is it easier to hold a small cell phone? The answer is simple. The differences between the phones of these two different generations are very obvious. The ease of use between a dial and a keypad is noticeable to anyone. The clarity of what you hear is spectacular today. Some phones today don’t even require for you stop doing your work as they just go right on your ear and you can talk for hours without having the annoyance of holding up your phone. The development of the cell phone made for a enormous expansion of having long conversations with people miles away.
So which generation is better? Decide for yourself. The technology of the current generation is definitely better by a landslide. However, the habits of the older generations may be better in your opinion. There could be many arguments made for either side.
