This page is hard to take seriously with the invasive banner ads that expand on the header and footer. And, the other ads located within the body on the top, right, and bottom. Such insight about the effects of technology is muted by the pathetic amount of advertising.

The point isn't that technology isn't useful, it's that it's hindering our concentration.

The point is: as long as the technology is used as a helpful tool, it won't harm us. We might assume that technological innovations will effect our lives much more in the future than it does nowadays, most probably in the way beyond our imagination.
The combination of economic practices and technology usage results into the ultimate goal of selling and buying technological products to perceive happiness. Buyers are happy with their fancy technological tools they are more frequently requiring and sellers are happy by increasing their profits and customers' loyalty. But how can we rely our happiness on technology or on any physical object? However, in doing so, we are about to experience a new form of slavery and addiction: the "econology" (= the result of economical and technological effects on social life).
Let us just for a moment think how our desire of buying new, fancy stuff keeps us from relaxing or taking one day off our work. We just fool ourselves, with the illusion that we need the money. What do we really need the money for? Rent, food, clothes, a mobile phone, a single computer sound to me respectable but why do we need a new phone or computer every year (even though our last one works perfectly fine)?
It is definitely an illusion to think that we control something that has become such an important part of our lives, especially as a consumer and customer. If we can not get along without it, we are as "customers" addicted to buying more and more fancy stuff. We are "enslaved" to desire ground-breaking technological innovations since the evolution of electricity. I doubt Tesla meant this to happen.

Think about this:
All other life on the planet it not reliant on technology, they also generally die young and often. They aren't capable of deep thought and aren't self aware. They will most likely never expand beyond were nature puts them. We on the other hand, with the help of our technology have been able to expand far beyond what nature allows us to, we know this because without that technology and the knowledge that comes with it would no doubt return to the most primitive stages of human life, when the only difference between us and monkeys was that we could stand (sort of) and they can't. Is it do bad that we are dependant on technology? If we need technology to live the way we do we can figure out a way to make it work, because with our technology we can control our future. That is what makes us unique, our technology and everything that comes with it.

i agree that technology has taken ownership in our lives because it seems that without it we no longer going survive and we are now less independent because we know that we can actually rely on technology and get things done at an instant

W, yes talking on the phone is an issue. That's how many people get into accidents, why no one is communicating and why people fail to learn complete social skills.
