The Superstar Nora Aunor is a History and a Living Library of Great Achievements
Mostly of the Filipinos considered Nora Aunor as a living history and a living library of great achievements. For them she is a legend and regarded as the only Superstar in Philippine Entertainment Industry from music, movie, television and in theater.
From the time Nora Aunor started her career as a singer and an actress, she had become a news maker throughout the country and has spread the world. With her golden voice, Nora Aunor has notched more than 30 gold singles. She has released more than 260 singles and recorded more than 500 songs and over more than 40 albums. At the height of her popularity as a recording artist in the late 1960s and early 1970s, sales of local records soared up to 75% of national sales according to Alpha Records Philippines. Added that on September 23, 2006, the City of Kileen, Texas U.S.A. officially announced the day as “Nora Aunor Day”. The same on May 21, 2004, the City of San Francisco, California, U.S.A. has officially announced the day as “Nora Aunor Day”. Also on March 31, 2006, the Office of the Governor of Las Vegas honored the Superstar with a “Certificate of Recognition for Phenomenal Talent and Extraordinary Performance”.
Nora Aunor was born on May 21, 1953 in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines. All these movies received international recognitions and awards
This movie Minsa’y Isang Gamu-Gamo was directed by Lupita Aquino-Kashiwahara. At that time under the administration of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos all films criticizing the American existence in the Philippines were not allowed for public showing, but the producers tapped Nora Aunor to star in the film believing that the superstar has connection with the president and his wife Imelda Marcos. The film, despite being critical to the presence of the United States military bases, was indeed released.
As a great news maker, the one and only Superstar Miss Nora Aunor had become the subject of laughter and jokes. Many Filipinos accused her and believed that she betrayed the former president Joseph Estrada and the Philippine movie action king Fernando Poe Jr. and the country during the past elections. All these pushed her to leave the country and live in the USA. Now Miss Nora Aunor has returned to Philippines. According to the latest update, she arrived Philippines last August 2011. She is there to start her book project – about her life.
Whatever people say against Nora Aunor, she is still the one and only Superstar Nora Aunor. And only Nora Aunor can beat Nora Aunor!

@macherie – nakapanghihinayang nga. Kung tutuusin sana siya ang pinamayaman na artista, but then ganuon talaga ang buhay at sa sobrang mapagmahal at maunawain niya sa kapwa tao, ang sirili niya at napabayaan. At humanga din ako kay Kuya Germs dahil hanggang ngayon he is there for Nora Aunor.

Nora Aunor is a genius when it comes to acting. Just when everyone in cinema and TV now needs to scream and deliver long monologues to get their messages across, her we have an actress who main utilities are her eyes and simple facial movements. Look at her final homicidal scene at Bona where she is about to scald Philip Salvador with a boiling caldroun of water and her short glance to her mother prior to declaring that everything is a hoax in Himala. These are exampled of her ability to convey at thousand words with simple glances. This is what cinema acting is all about
