Throw Away Your Television!

by P. M. Kerins in Society, June 4, 2007

A short, eye opening piece on how you are a puppet at the hands of the “greater good”.

You’re life might depend upon reading this. Be warned this is not for the faint of heart. If you have a lot of stock in the wonders of modern living, this might be that little bit too much for you to handle, however if your mind is open, or at least ajar, let this be your first lesson in the way things really are.

First of all, you are in control of nothing, the only reason you think you are is that the powers that be decided that you should. Think of all of the wonderful modern conveniences you have in your life. Now think of these as tools, methods of control. Those who have the power and own all of the major companies fear you. They fear you and all of mankind to such a degree that they have placed you in an invisible prison. You, no doubt, are looking at a screen right now. Have you ever read Orwell’s 1984? Well welcome to the end of the world, the end of humanity. You are now being controlled by those with the power to do so.

It’s a fantastically intricate trap into which you have fallen and no one, even the most intelligent could have prevented it. Do you feel that you are incomplete? Do you feel that your house or your car or your bank balance is just not good enough? Greed is being used against you. Mass advertising is making you believe that you are simply not good enough, and you never will be.

Take a deep breath now and try to remember a part of your life that didn’t involve TV or any other advertising medium being forced in your face. If you are lucky enough to have such a memory, notice how beautifully simple that time was, how carefree and devoid of all worry. This, my friends is how life as a human being is supposed to be, not the constant battle for material wealth.

In conclusion, try to redesign your life to discard those things that you do not need, ignore the constant drone from the TV set and turn your eyes from the billboards because the only reason they are there is to keep you where THEY want you, in submission.
