Top Ten Worst Fads

A fad is a, usually short lived, fashion or music sensation that gains popularity quickly, but loses it twice as fast. Unless you’ve been living with some extremist non-conformists, you’ve been exposed to these at least once. Here are some of the worst.

10. Saggy Pants

Do we really need to see that much underwear on a guy? On some people, it might look fine but sadly, most people who do this try too hard and see their entire underwear or sometimes even – eep! – their bare bottom. The last thing I need as someone mooning me on Saturday Morning.

9. Virtual Pets

You know the ones. Those small pocket pets that live for the average of a few weeks? You can walk it, play with it, and take care of it. Lose interest? It’s alright! Just forget about it. It’ll die in a few days.

8. Mood Rings

Starting in the 70s, it was fine. This is one of those fads that was resurrected 20 years after it’s natural death and let to roam the Earth for another month or so before eventually dieing. Again.

7. Smiley Button Pins

Every single person knows of this one. Yeah, the one you pin to your hat or your battle jacket. Add a drop of blood and you’ve got your self a Smiley Button. 

6. Pet Rock

Yes, it’s considered a fad. We all know about this one as well. It is probably the most well known scam in history. Take a rock, put it in a box, and sell it.

5. Myspace

Here, we have a fad that is still somewhat alive. Myspace has become home to millions of pages filled with eye blinding backgrounds and deafening music from some pop artist. LULLZ!!!!1111

4. Crocs

These so-called shoes have swept the planet by surprise. When I first saw them, I was laughing thinking no one would buy them. I was wrong. These high-tech flip flips have become one of the most common footwear seen. 

3. Roller Shoes

These would have been lower on the list, but I had to put it here to say one thing. This is one of the reasons why kids are so overweight. “Don’t walk when you can roll!”

2. Ripped Jeans

Loved by all the true grungers before. Loved by everyone else now. What more can I say?
