UKs Top 10 Guilty Pleasures

On doing my usual scout of the online newspapers here in the UK I came across this rather bizarre item!  I always knew we were a nation of slobs and yobs but this gives the rest of the world an insight into exactly what we get up to when we’re at home.

There are some things that aren’t in the Top Ten listed above but are equally disgusting.

I had a school friend who came to stay with me during school holidays when I was about 12 or 13.  I shared my bedroom with her and was horrified to see that she had a habit of blowing her nose on the sheet.  Needless to say the friendship didn’t last long!

In later years I had a boyfriend who, I discovered, enjoyed nothing more than coming in after a night out for a cup of coffee and, while he was waiting with me for the kettle to boil, he’d scratch his ears and flick the wax in the kitchen.  A relationship that was most definitely doomed!!!

As for me … I’m not quite sure what my worst habit is.  I know my partner hates me sticking the dirty cat bowl and knife in the washing up bowl with the remainder of the pots and pans, and I also have a habit of using squeezy tomato ketchup and salad cream but don’t wash the nozzly bit so it gets caked on.  And as for my partner, well, after living with him for 25 years he’s perfect in every way of course.

So, we may present a ’stiff upper lip’ to the outside world but if you could see those same stalwart Brits at home you might be very unpleasantly surprised.
