We are Often Upset by People’s Bad Habits: Which Annoy You Most?
We are Often upset by People’s Bad Habits. Which annoy you most? I do not suppose these bad habits will ever be reduced in number. I only hope that they do not worse. I also realize that I have many bad habits of my own that even annoy me when I become aware of them. Thus it is up to me first of all to change my bad habits. In doing so, maybe, just maybe, I may able tolerate people’s bad habits a lot better..

We are all creatures of habits. One person’s good habit another’s bad. So I will just a matter of opinion whether a habit is good or bad. So I will just discuss a few habits that I considered bad. You do have to agree with me, though it would be nice if you do.

Eating the Food
By far, the worst habit that I see everyday is that of people slurping on their food. The range of sounds they can make in between the time of picking up their food to the time they finally swallow the food is infinite. I have seen some sucking on their fingers like an infant sucking on a milk bottle. Yet there are others who can imitate the sound of wet clothes flapping in the breeze, a meat-grinder with blunt blades or rain drops falling on a tin roof. There are other sounds that are beyond description. They must be heard to be appreciated or rather, be nauseated by.

Merely eating the food is not the whole story. The after-meal routine of and try bleaching and farting is equally bad. No food in the world will look appetizing when I hear the sound of a slob letting go of his excess wind and then catching the overwhelming smell that inevitably follows. Yuck, just writing about this makes me feel like throwing up.
We leave the obnoxious thoughts and go on to something less so.

Smokers
Have you ever caught in a small room, like a lift, with a smoker who does not care a hoot about the no-smoking sign? Well, I have and I can say that I get very annoyed indeed. The combination of watery eyes and chocking throat makes me want to do some physical harm to the smokers. Alas, invariably these smokers look mean and I am not brave enough to pick a fight with them. So I keep quiet and try to avoid them as much as possible. Strangely though smokers do not seems affected by the smoke. Who knows? Time will tell.

Awaiting Somebody
Having to wait for somebody is another thing that annoys me. Some people always turn up late for an appointment. Some do not even show up. This lack of punctuality is certainly a bad habit that none should cultivate. Not showing up for an appointment is worse. It amounts to untrustworthiness. Anybody who does any of these things to me can only do it once. There would not be a next time because I would not make any more appointments with him unless of course, If he apologizes and really does change.

Snoring
How about people who snore in their sleep? I remember staying awake some nights counting the seconds between the rhythmic snores that my grandmother makes. There are exactly thirteen seconds, according to my estimate, between the snores, because I am too deeply asleep to hear them. On certain nights when sleep is far away, I have to bear the grating sound that comes all the way from the next room where she sleeps. I am thankful for the wall separating us. God bless anyone in the same room with her when she snores. I could imagine how my grandfather must have felt. Lucky for him, he is beyond hearing now, being six feet below the ground.

Bad Habits
Then there are those who sneeze without even attempting to cover their faces. Others squeeze a new tube of toothpaste in the middle. Young legs never put their shoes together. A newspaper left in a dozen parts after somebody has gone through it, a piece of meat wrapped in today’s unread papers, ants crawling all over some left-over food, a toilet left without flushed, a driver who never bothers to signal; well these are bad habits that annoy me. There are others but they are too numerous to mention.
I do not suppose these bad habits will ever be reduced in number. I only hope that they do not worse. I also realize that I have many bad habits of my own that even annoy me when I become aware of them. Thus it is up to me first of all to change my bad habits. In doing so, maybe, just maybe, I may able tolerate people’s bad habits a lot better.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Nice shot, Mr Ghaz! Funny but true. We are oftentimes sandwiched by people whose bad habits are flowing, though we also have our own. Interesting article. It made me smile.

I loved the article Mr Ghaz. Many of those habits would annoy me too. I can add these two: People who borrow things and don’t return them and those who make promises to you and then break them. I wouldn’t dream of doing these to someone else so why should they do them to me. Great work.

Noisey eaters drive me NUTS!!!!
I have no patience with these ill mannered individuals – NOTE TO PARENTS – do not slack off on teaching your kids to eat with their MOUTH CLOSED!!! – also gum chewing is disgusting too – especially those who chew with their mouth open.. even cows have more dignity than those people!

Very interesting. It takes all sorts of people to make this world a happy place. Ghaz, I have really enjoyed this.
Remember: One mans meat is another persons poison.! Really . Is there some one who can say what is bad and what is good,! I wonder. For all that who knows :What is right and what is wrong.?

Wonderful article – true and funny at the same time. Well done!
I think I would go with the bad eating habits and the snoring, though one is rather done deliberately and the other unconsciously…

Outstanding article. You really got me thinking about what are my bad habits and how I can change them. I myself hate people who eat with their mouths open and smokers.

I have enough bad habits to never judge someone else. Like eating with my mouth open and smoking.

Nice. When reporters say:’Very unique’, I just want to strangle them… it’s like almost pregnant or slightly inebriated!

Very very true. Like you say we all have bad habits. However, some bad habits go beyond just inconsiderate. Most of these are not only annoying, but lack empathy for the fellow man. For ex, sneezing without covering your mouth is annoying, but it is also showing a lack of concern that whatever germs the sneezer has is now passed on to everyone else.

Some interesting points, I agree with the one about smoking, I have no objection to anyone smoking, just not near me! Great choice of photos.

We all hate some habits others have, and, yes, others hate habits we have!! The only person we can change is ourselves! And we need to suck it back and get on with it. I know I have waved a book like a fan in a small space when someone blows cigarette smoke at me. I think I will keep doing that one! Great article, wonderful pictures! Well done.

I find snoring the hardest to cope with, but the problem is also that I know I do it myself at times!
I think the habit I find the most disgusting is spitting, when people are walking along they do this alot. I do not like the sound or seeing this on the ground.
