We Have Fallen!

What can be done to help a people whose leadership is bent on ruining their commonwealth through massive corruption find their feet and voice in an age like this?

Only last week, the Group of 20 summit in London snubbed the Giant of Africa by not deeming Nigeria fit to be invited as an observer nation on how to proffer solutions to the multi-faced economic problems facing the world today. He sounded so bereaved that my heart went to him.

The point here is that Nigeria does not deserve much respect from such class of most industrialized nations because in no time has corruption been taken to the next level than in this era in the history of Nigeria as a nation.

The stock of Nigerians in the National Assembly are behaving like they have been sent by an aggressor nation to loot the nation blind and have been doing nothing since they were elected into office to work for the collective good of the Nigerian people but they have done nothing in two years other than sharing the national cake among themselves as we know that Nigeria’s money is not for every Nigerian except the very few who paid the electoral umpire to help rig them into honourable offices they don’t deserve in the first place.

A nation that is doing nothing even when $200,000 in the custody of the NFF are developing wings and leaving the shores of our nation is not a serious country to invite to such a summit of serious nations.

A President that does not have any will-power to achieve a single legacy while in office is not one that can be taken seriously. For two years now, Yar’Adua as the duly elected president through a massively rigged election by his predecessor Olusegun Obasanjo is yet to point at a thing and say confidently that he has achieved that for thee poor Nigerian people who through the wickedness of the people in power have remained poor in the midst of plenty.

I was shocked hearing Yar’adua address State House correspondents how bad he felt by not being invited to go and flaunt his traditional dress in a summit of serious-minded nations.

I dare ask, when will Nigerian leaders learn to get anything right and give a purposeful leadership and not finance corruption as it is suffocating the economy?
