Weight and Issues
How we look at weight issues. How the general public is forced to perceive weight.

Recently there was an issue with Jessica Simpson and Heidi Klum and their weight. I thought both of them finally looked normal. Models and stars who are just skin and bones are really a sad excuse for weight issues. Most of the models look like they are starving themselves just to fit the ideal that the fashion industry has put on them. Why not have that girl who looks like every other American. Many of us are not a size zero or two, maybe we are sizes 6-20 and why should we be looked down upon.
Many young girls are given the wrong impression that skinny is beautiful. Being beautiful is just being yourself, you have to realize we are sending them into a down ward spiral. I heard today that America’s Next Top Model is no longer just looking for the tall models, they are now taking the smaller girls. Its about time not every woman in America is 5foot 7inches and weighs less than 100pounds. I am really surprised that this issue is still as big as ever.
I personally think that Jessica and Heidi look great. They look “normal” something that we all look like. Many girls clothing has become smaller and if you can’t fit in that small size the size you need just doesn’t fit as well. This is a huge issue for girls who struggle with self esteem issues. This is why they end up in hospitals with anorexia and bullemia and many years of therapy until they build back up their self esteem.
The whole issue of weight even to the biggest loser. The contestants are taught about healthy ways to loose weight but they are not told to starve themselves. They are given goals to reach. A goal that is reasonable for their body stats.
First of all I am not overweight, I am also not in the category of the size zero to two. I am happy and proud to say that I am the right size for my height and age, I fit in the caterogry of 6-20 a healthy weight is better any day compared to a girl who looks like she starved herself. I just hope that we give our girls that confidence to be happy with the size they are.
