What Attracted You to This Programme and What You Think You’ll Get Out of It for Example, in Terms of Your Academic Studies, Future Career or Personal Development?

Essays for the Study China Programme.

The study China Programme is unique in that it offers so much in such a short period of time. A focus on China, as the world’s second largest economy with a cultural heritage extending over four thousand years, is an exciting opportunity to learn about a country that is set to become a global economic leader.

As a student I am constantly learning about new ideas and theories which are very often supplemented by practical elements; the Study China Programme offers the practicality of learning about a culture by actually being there. The Programme offers the opportunity to demonstrate my enthusiasm in taking on challenges, my interest on global issues and my desire to explore the world. I intend to do this by learning Chinese language and immersing myself in cultural classes to understanding a group of people that make up almost 20% of the global population. I know that after I complete this programme, I will be able to tell people about this amazing experience via my social networks and it would also provide evidence to employers of my distinguishing qualities and skills.

I believe that this programme will further develop my communication skills, enable me to work as a team player and allow me to be creative, all of which are skills I believe are important to acquire when seeking professional employment. I understand that should I be one of the few lucky individuals to venture on such a unique programme that I will be responsible and maintain a mature conduct throughout my stay.
