What Do You Want?

In today’s day and age do we really know what we want to read about.   Sure we all say, “Oh I’m sick and tired of hearing about this person or that person.”   Yet, we find ourselves picking up the tabloids at the check- out stands and chuckling at what we read.   Maybe we look over our shoulders to make sure no one is watching but we try to find out what we may be missing out on.   We curl up into a ball on the couch and find ourselves watching reality TV or other programs we say we’d never be caught dead watching.

We flip through the channels looking for something better and their probably is.   I think some people are also afraid or change.   Even better yet they don’t wish to waste their time.   We only have a few hours sometimes before bed after work so we need to make our choice count.   Sometimes stick with an old standby.   We always want something new or fresh yet once again we find ourselves watching an old standby.   We know those reruns won’t let us down.   There is something to be said for memorization as well as adding the punch line along with the main character.

Sometimes in a weird way these characters become a part of our lives.   Also they make us feel wanted and will always be there for us.   All I know is I do get sick and tired of hearing about the same celebrities.  Sometimes you wonder where there talent is and then it clicks on for me.   Their talent is in getting caught and noticed.   Never completely falling off the radar because the viewer tunes into them again.   All of us should be tuning into shows about real heroes, those that contribute, and on and on.    Unfortunately that isn’t always the most exciting thing to watch.

I have been apart of this trend.   I have watched my family be fascinated watching the OJ Simpson trial while being on vacation.  We can’t stand a person yet we keep giving them more ratings.  Hopefully we will solve this issue soon.   Day after day keep trying to put this puzzle together.   What do we really want to watch?
