What Happened to Immoral Mexicans?

by Jesse Ledesma in Society, March 1, 2009

On the road of disregard for law and order of the average Mexican, and how this action has led to the country of lawlessness and drug gangs.

Allow me to tell you a story about a city named stupid El Paso, Texas.  Okay, I added the stupid part of its name.  However, you will see why I have such a low opinion of this city.

The major and city representatives think it is okay to set the fares taxi driver can charge.  The taxi industry is private industry and all taxi drivers are self-employed.  In addition, no other industry has their business so over regulated as the taxi industry in stupid El Paso, Texas.

More germane to my point are the people who were hired to enforce all the municipal codes that regulate the taxi industry.  The stupid city of El Paso, through the police department, hires what they call taxi inspectors. This department consists of 4 inspectors.

One is the supervisor who stays in office to avoid trouble. One for some reason takes delight in giving citations to taxi drivers.  The problem with him is he tries to use coercion and intimidation to get the taxi driver to admit he or she did something wrong.  The last time he cited yours truly he actually told me to tell him the truth or he would suspend me.

According to municipal code a taxi driver has to commit certain acts before he or she can be suspended.  In addition, a taxi driver has to be found guilty in a court of law before he or she is suspended.  Yet, the citation was sufficient for this taxi inspector to accuse me of lying and to threaten me with suspension when I hadn’t even had my day in court.  In case you are wondering in the ten years I have been a taxi driver I have received four citations and lost only one in court.

The other two taxi inspectors I call the twins.  They drive around in the same car.  Where there is one you will find the other.  However, the bigger problem is they fuel animosity among taxi drivers by laughing and ridiculing drivers while in conversations with other taxi drivers.  Their job is code enforcement, not to be entertaining them selves by seeing how much trouble they can cause among the drivers.

I have had to write city government and the police chief.  Now, after they had their chains yanked they have copped an attitude.  There are no real inspectors doing their jobs.  Now all that works in the Taxi Detail department in the stupid city of El Paso are people who cash their paychecks but are no where to be seen.

These city employees got in their heads that because they cannot do what they want they just wouldn’t work.  This is what I call copping an attitude. They were never hired to be loved by taxi drivers.  I have the right to file formal complaints when these taxi inspectors act outside their authority.  If they cannot deal with being punished for behaving bad maybe they should find them selves other employment.

This is the personality of the average Mexican.  Remember the title of this article is “What Happened to Immoral Mexicans”.  Life did not work out the way they wanted therefore they will not follow the standards of a decent society.

Ask the average Mexican why he does what he does and he will tell you because the business people and politicians have created circumstances that leave no other options.  Business people with the help of politicians keep salaries low.  In addition, prices in Mexico are extremely high.

Because of these reason and others, many in Mexico think it is okay to defraud businesses and government.  People import illegally to Mexico.

I keep saying that people of Mexico do not pay taxes they bride the tax collector.  When they are the Mexican customs with merchandize of value over the allowable import limit, they just offer the customs officer a bride.  The majority willingly accepts it.

Immorality has become the way of life in Mexico.  You would think that having your culture completely over run by drug dealers would be an enormous hardship.  Yet, many grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles are proud of how much their family member has managed to accomplish at such a young age, even though all his gains are from associations with drug dealers.

Working for the drug dealers and selling death is not a stigma in Mexico.  Presidents, senators, governors, mayors, military leaders, businessmen and woman, and the every day citizens happily work for drug dealers in one fashion or another.  There is a complete lack of consideration law and justice.  There is a complete lack of moral conflict.  It has become a way of life.

Their complaints are even ironic.  How can a person allow their car to be stuffed with drugs and run it over to the American side and them complain when sister starts to work in a Mexican brothel?  Many people who come into the border city I live in from Mexico every morning to go to work only have what is called around here as a local visa.  This visa is only to visit the US within a 20-mile limit, not to work.  Yet this people go on and on about the deteriorating public safety in their country because of the drug gang wars.  Look, a criminal is a criminal.

However, that is the practice in Mexico.  As long as you get what you want the means do not matter.  Furthermore, I would like to say that there are decent moral people in Mexico.  I just haven’t met one.  The more you interact with people from Mexico you find out what their hustle is in life.  I see people hiding boxes of cigarettes as they cross in to the US in order to sell them.   When you bring in cigarettes from Mexico to the US you have to go to the booth of the state of Texas and pay taxes on those cigarettes.

Another concern is how easily people with out the legal right to be in country defraud state welfare offices.  Every day people are showing up in welfare offices with credentials of a family member who returned to Mexico.  Another trick is that their husbands with out the legal right to work gets paid in cash and since there is no record of the income the wife goes and asks for government assistance.  I was telling one of my customers that all the government apartments in area around here called “Segundo barrio” are filled with people from Mexico who were drawn to cross in to the US illegally by rumors of the US government giving homes, food stamps, and other life amenities.

Moreover, yesterday, I was watching on the local news some people from this area who went to DC to demand fair treatment.  The members of this group of people were asking for education, healthcare, apartments, and other government services for people who are in the country illegally.  The first question that came to my mind was “why aren’t they in Mexico demanding all these things from their government?”

Collectively the people of Mexico have turned their country in to a lawless wasteland.  No one forced them into a bad attitude were all their bad actions were justified because of business and government’s wrong doings.  In addition, Mexico has a representative form of government.  All Mexicans have had equal access to shape a country according to their wishes.

I have decided not to do business with Hispanic owned businesses.  This politicization of victim identity in order to harass the American government and Americans with emotional blackmail rubs me the wrong way.  People who practice immoral behaviors like the ones I have described here have no moral justification to claim they have been treated unfairly.  All people who disregard the law are part of the problem regardless of the reasons they break the law.

Now, America is in danger of the kind of apathy that has led to complete immorality by the people of Mexico.  Americans in a large part do not trust politicians, government departments, and/or businesses.  How long before the people of America start giving them selves permission to disregard the law because of their attitudes against government and businesses?

It is very easy to start doing what Mexicans have been doing for over 59 years. You fail to report a little income.  Them you stop paying taxes altogether.  Before you know it, America is another failed state with no public security.

You are so right about the apathy in America. Our country is at risk of failing as Mexico has. This is something that many citizens do not realize can happen.
