When Proven Fact Does Not Require Belief

I’ve always hated the use of the word ‘believe’ when dealing with fact because it is used openly in the religious sense, and because of this i find that it lacks the conviction needed when dealing with absolute fact. Sure i can ‘believe’ what you say, in that sense the usage is adequate. But i can never believe in Atheism, for Atheism requires no belief as it merely dismisses the supernatural, and religious, and therefore its representation of reality and doesn’t require faith or belief but an understanding and reasonable comprehension. The same goes for key mathematics. How can one ever believe that 1+1=2? What is there to believe? You can understand the formula and take it as absolute proved fact without having to decide upon the matter.

In science Evolution is proven fact. And when i say science i refer to mans absolute knowledge of life and the world around us, that science. Despite the heavily specialised, media driven industry that science has become nowdays, there are many core elements of science that need to be understood before one understands what fact is. Any scientific theory must go through years of scrutiny through the proving grounds, and find widespread acceptance through sufficient research and experimentation, to become a fact. Once you understand this procedure, and when it comes to Evolution especially, you come to realise just how extensive the procedure needs to be in order to gain validity of fact. Science is just coming out of its shell, because of the centuries of religious persecution, and despite the fact that we know so little there’s quite alot we know for absolute certain! Evolution has reached the point where it presents nothing that requires any further scrutiny, reason and through that scrutiny and reason, belief.

Facts should be taken as near absolute truths, and therefore learnt, understood, and all without having to employ belief or faith in the matter. To dispute Evolution, and not only DNA evolution but the evolution as the eventual progression of society and civilisation etc, is to dispute absolute truth. I’d refer to any of those folks, as either uneducated in Evolution, that their misinformed, and that their either intellectually deficient or simply put, ignorant. This is my take on the dispute of Evolution. I understand the logic and reason behind the theory of Evolution, just as i accept it as proven fact, no belief required.
