Why Do Our Pro Athletic Players Get Paid So Much?

Where could we start, when it comes to changing the economy for the better?

Have you ever sat back and wondered, “Why in the world do all the pro football, basketball, baseball, and hockey players, race car drivers, and any others pro sport players make so much money, doing something that they love to do, but our police officers, firefighters, and EMT, and any other public service workers, who risk their lives every minute of the day to help us, aren’t making squat compared to Our Sports Hero’s?”   Or, take a look at all the money our Movie stars, and our singers, are making every year, by also doing something they love to do.

I know I wonder everyday, why these people in question are making the money that they make.  I understand that for the pro sports players of the world are at risk for injury, every play they make, and that they sometimes can end up with life changing injuries, but isn’t that the risk of the common man just walking down the street now days.  But that is why we have health insurance, and they have the same option for insurance as we do, and granted they may pay more than we do for it, but they also get treated better, because they are, “Who they are.”  The even worse part of it, is there are tons of people in the world, that don’t have insurance for themselves, or their families, either do to the fact that they can’t find a job, or only have a part time job, that doesn’t offer insurance, or if they have the option for insurance, it’s so ridiculously high premiums, they choose to opt out, just for the money they will get into their household instead. And look at our senior citizens, and our American vets, who can’t even get the health coverage they deserve, good grief, they found for our freedom, and independence that we have today, and they are left rotting in shady rest homes, that mainly care about the monthly income they receive for these seniors to be there.

Our society, is in such a financial bind right now, and everyone is standing around pointing fingers at everyone else, and we’re getting nowhere, and nobody knows where to start, well my suggestion is, first start with the obvious, everyone in the media, is richer that they need to be, I think their salaries should be based on a little above their needs, maybe 25-30 thousand more a year than what the everyday person needs, just to make it through the year, if you think about it, “why the hell do they need all that money?”  The fancy cars, clothes, and all the other things they think they need to have, why?  If they were to even cut their salaries in half, and distribute the other half of the money to all the states, and help the people who are at least trying to make an honest living, instead of just giving the money to the ones who just lay around having kids for the state(I really mean us) to pay for, then maybe our society wouldn’t be in the state that we’re in.

I know, I’m probably barking up the wrong tree, but I am the common person, I work a full time job, in which I’ve been there going on 10 yrs now, but am currently, I am laid-off, but for the past 6 yrs, I also have had 2nd jobs, doing paper routes, and have been doing merchandising for over a year now, some weeks I was working 45-48 hrs a week, and other weeks, I was picking up 50-65,  it just depended on how many merchandising jobs I had to do for that week.  And to be honest, all those hours I was working, being away from my family, not getting half enough sleep, still  wasn’t making ends meet.  And now that I’m laid-off from my full time job, I don’t have insurance for me or my son.  I just can’t understand why we, as a society, has allowed for this to happen.
