Of course, many of the non-Muslims might have thought why Muslims abstain from eating pork. The reason being is that pork has been forbidden in Islam and this article is filled with detail as to why pork is forbidden.
We all know that food and drink has an effect on our health. So Islam has set limits to what food and drink we can have. The main food that Islam has told us about is to prevent eating pork due to hygiene conditions and to keep the soul purified.
Islam says that we can keep ourselves clean by doing our Salaat prayers as well as Zikr which is the remembrance of Allah and some other types of devotion. It also teaches us to get good deeds and how to prevent you from bad habits as a man has both of these types of habits.
There is a saying that a man becomes what he eats. So according to medical reports, pork is a harmful diet. Eating pork creates lowliness in character. I do not intend to be offensive to people who eat pork. This is only to reveal the reason why Islam forbids pork.
Eating something which hurts the body, hurts the soul as well because the life of a man depends what enters his body.
The food that we all eat does not just enter the stomach, intestines and become excreta. The body does actually absorb the food and it is taken everywhere in the body including the brain. If you don’t drink water for a whole day, doesn’t the head start aching? Yes it does because our brains need water and if you have a glass, you feel so much better, this is because the water is absorbed through the whole body. If the water was just to pass your stomach and go into the bladder, will your head not continue aching?

Let’s read in detail about what a pig does in its life. It is naturally lazy and eats human excreta and anything else it finds. Its body is full of diseases and this is why it should not be consumed.
It is also said that pork has more fat than any other meat! This meat takes longer to digest. 16 kinds of harmful germs have been detected in pork.
People who suffer tapeworm disease have become the highest in pork eating nations. People who are affected by these diseases usually die or recover slowly. These were pork caters!
Doctors have said that no one is protected from these diseases and there is no cure. Medicines, antibiotics, drugs are useless to kill these deadly worms.
There is no guarantee that you will stay safe when you eat pork so its better off staying away from it.
So here you have the answer to why Islam forbids pork. But if a Muslim has nothing else to eat for a living, he can consume pork to save his life.
I hope you enjoyed this article. I am a Muslim and I enjoyed sharing this with you.

Thanks for explaining this. Well done. I have a dear friend who is from Syria, so I had some understanding. Nice job.

Interesting read, although I doubt most of the ‘facts’ cited. Chickens are far dirtier than any animal out there, we eat them all the time. But its a cultural thing and it was interesting you read your views.

I did my college in a predominantly Muslim University in Mindanao, Philippines. Like Peter Cimino, I had some understanding and I am inclined to agree with you.

thanks for sharing this post. The concept behind why Muslims do not eat pork can be adopted by other religions. I hope this practice must be elevated into a higher perspective. meaning,it should not stop from eating pork, but a true religion should not tolerate hatred and war against other humans, race or other religion. Thanks for the share.

The problem is that your opinions are irrational and based in dogma and not fact. Let’s have a closer look;
“So according to medical reports, pork is a harmful diet”. Which ones? Prove it. Medical reports show that pork is in fact harmless.
“It (a pig) is naturally lazy”. Got any evidence for this? No, of course not. It’s a ridiculous, dogmatic claim.
“and eats human excreta and anything else it finds”. Pigs are omnivorous yes, they will eat most things. So will chickens. Will a pig eat human excreta? Well I can’t prove this either way but I suspect that human poo is not generally on the menu at most pork farms.
“It is also said that pork has more fat than any other meat! This meat takes longer to digest”. Who says that? Where do they say it? Lamb is very fatty too, possibly more so than pork.
“16 kinds of harmful germs have been detected in pork”. Again, back up your ‘facts’ with evidence. It’s well known that pork goes off quickly if not properly refrigerated, but why would this be a problem if the meat is treated properly?
“People who suffer tapeworm disease have become the highest in pork eating nations”. Again, another so-called fact plucked from the air. Beef tapeworms are actually just as common as pork tapeworms.
“Doctors have said that no one is protected from these diseases and there is no cure. Medicines, antibiotics, drugs are useless to kill these deadly worms”. This is just a lie. Prove it with evidence.
In summary, you clearly have no grasp of evidence-based reasoning and your opinions should not be presented as fact.
