Young People are The Problem?

This is a piece of writing about change and perception.

Many people believe that many of our crime is down to young teenagers – these youths are often referred to as YOBS and delinquents, and although some of the crime is down to youths not all of the crime they are blamed for is down to them. People fail to realise that these youngsters are actually looking to change the future for the better and a lot of these youngsters are involved in many recreational and positive organisations, for example there are Youth Parliament groups set up around the country in which young people contribute their ideas to changing their area for the better. These organisations look at how youths can help the community, what improvements can be made in their area, how to use the creativeness of youngsters to enhance the community, as well as many more objectives.

In addition to this, people have to realise that in the current economic climate, parents have to work for longer periods of time and thus many teenagers look after young siblings and some even get part time jobs and contribute to the rent. Furthermore, the constant criticism of teenagers can cause them to become very demotivated and as a result they find themselves asking whether their positive contribution is valued or not.

Therefore, we must ask ourselves whether young people are a problem or whether it is society that needs to change and show both negative and positive aspects of not only teenagers but as the world as a whole.
