The misconception.

Why do people try to enter Australia illegally?

Many people try to enter Australia illegally, they are called illegal immigrants. They enter Australia for many reasons; for instance, their country could be in war or suffering from poverty. Also many people come to Australia because our universities aren’t full; they are cheaper and are often a better learning environment then their country. Many Chinese people, for instance, come to Australia because our universities because theirs are full, due to their population being over 1Billion. There are 2003 universities through China and they can’t possibly hold the 31879000 students wanting to go to university.. Most of the universities would be in the main cities and China is a large country so it would take a long time to travel so far. They may also be planning on doing something illegal, for instance importing drugs from countries where its cheaper, they could come to Australia and sell them. They could come here for legitimate reasons but not be able to pass the test.

How has technology changed our society?

Technology has changed our society in many ways, some good some bad. It has made the world much lazier, for instance we don’t do much hand written work compared to back when there wasn’t computers. Also many people enjoy themselfs on the computer, when back 20 years ago many would have preferred to go out and play sport. I think this is contributing to Australia being the fattest country in the world and the growing problem of childhood obesity. Although there are many cons to the technology improvements, it makes communication around the world much easier, and the internet itself is a great resource for anything, including school work. Also it makes working easier, by companies buying robots to do humans jobs, resulting in cheap work, But some people losing jobs. It is also very bad because iPods can cause deafness if they are too loud for too long. One of the worst problems about technology is that its making people become more antisocial and people don’t like to do stuff in real life, they prefer to do it on the computer.

What determines popular music?

Popular music is mainly determined by many things, I believe its determined by the American market mostly. America determines what is popular in our market because there is hardly ever Australian music in the top 40 hits. Also Myspace music is excellent for helping music artists get popular and on the main site it has the most popular songs played on it. Some people also assume because its widely listened to its good so they buy it, this makes it grow and become more popular, kind of like a cycle. Most of the time popular music isn’t really decent music so I don’t think that being popular music has much to do about skill, its mainly about how it is marketed and if the artist is popular.

You get your point across very well, it is annoying to hear that youths are always blamed for trouble.
