Fostering Socio-Centric Thinking

Socio-Centrism and the media and how they convince the people.

Sociocentrism and the media are very effective into convincing people of their beliefs. One such example of this would be Hitler. Hitler made the people of Germany believe that what he was doing was right. The media reinforced the idea and soon many Germans thought it was the right way to think or live. Also, the people of any cultural/ethnic background should realize that the information that they get from the media will most likely be biased. For example, the United States, being an enemy towards Hitler, will write about how he was bad. However, countries who allied with Hitler may write the complete opposite, admiring him in every aspect. This just shows that no matter where people go, there will be news that one think may be wrong, rather, it is our ideology and our environment that allows this lack of understanding for such events, like the Holocaust. The media always tell the truth, it just depends if they’re biased or not and how they choose to tell the story.
