We have to admit, IT (Information Technology) world has grown much larger by years. Back in, 1946 when the computer was invented, this world was nothing but a dream. Later in 60’s the internet was found. This is much bigger step in the computer dream, which mean that the computer could communicate each other. Who’s going to believe that some of the improvement in internet such as web 2.0, PHP, AJAX, etc, made a huge contribution to the internet glory nowadays. Internet is getting larger and larger. It gives us the easier communication in every way.
The programming language also made some developments. Back in 90’s, those programming language were rare. But now, even an IT expert couldn’t understand all the programming language.
What we achieve actually? Ironically, those big developments, still cannot improve our manners. Our language was found much earlier rather than programming language. But, we can’t make a big progress like IT world did. We still keep on fighting, arguing every little problem, and avoiding to choose a peace way. Just look at now. People said that world war is just over. But war and attacks still. We couldn’t achieve the better communication.
Yes. We are the founder of those IT developments. So, why we can’t do such a thing?
Well, first, internet makes us less socialization in real life. So what the big deals? Having less meet in real life could bring us some degradation. Internet may provide us the social networking sites, but nothing compares the real thing. We can’t see the body language of other people in social networking, which has large contribution in someone comprehension in communicating.
Later, the internet made someone lazier to move. And our brain will be less productive because computers have taken over some of our job. So, perhaps in decades, computers or robots will defeated us.
We should balance our life. Having too much daily activity in front of computers is not so good anyway.
Probably we should develop those computers more integrating in our live. UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computer) may become one step in minimizing computer and integrating it the other way. What the advantages of having an integrated computer? Well, we could save our time and having a time to walk on the street without losing our control to our business. How about having a computer in our watch, or our glasses? Is not a bad idea huh?
And also, the role of language teacher in every country is also needed. Because, internet and chat, made the original language mutate. What’s the big deal? Well, we don’t want to see our kids introduce their self with some chat language. It should be “hi, what’s is your name?” not become “hi, asl pls?”. We haven’t seen it now, but with the massive internet effect in our life, it may be happen. A wise person told me that avoiding is much better than fixing.
So, let’s improve our quality of life, just like IT World did.
