You have it wrong.
1. If all you're worried about is popularity, then you're probably in junior high, serious if you need the approval of the people around you without being yourself, then you're the one messed up, not the runescape players.
2. Runescape is a game, and like ANYTHING in this world it can derail you from responsibility. The same thing can happen with skateboarding, getting a girlfriend, picking up a new hobby, finding a new book series. If YOU lose track of YOUR resposibilites then it's YOUR fault, not some game.

I play runescape, I play regularly. Call me whatever you want, my point is, I have friends, both in real life and in game. Some of my real life friends play the game. We have fun and hang out on the game. If it's something you love then don't quit because "It's the right thing to do" Its a game. Have fun, if you stop having fun, play something else.

Ok well, I\'m gonna go off and tell my story of my former RS addiction.

So, I joined Runescape sometime in the summer of 2006 (probably July). The reason I joined it is because both my friend and I got banned on another MMORPG (Puzzle Pirates).

Well first of all, he started playing Runescape first after we got banned for PP. One day I went to his house and he showed me a \"new\" game we could get into and play. So it looked cool and when I got home I created my file.

Well in about a month, right before school started I say I would\'ve gotten to level 30 combat and I had level 50 Woodcutting and about level 40 fishing.

Anyways, this was back in Grade 6. For some reason that yr it seemed like more then half the boys in the school were playing that game.

So I remember, I think it was Christmas Eve 2006, I was playing it for about half a year at this point. Someone scammed me a bunch of my Rune stuff. I was very disappointed and I quit the game for about 3 - 4 months.

Anyways when I got back to the game in spring of 2007 my dad had put a limit on my playing. At this point my brother signed up for RS and the computer was either being dominated by him or me.

So yeah, my dad had limited us to 2 hours a day. But for some reason he forgot about it and we playing it for about 5 - 6 hours a day each.

So came the summer (2007). My mom had gotten me a 3 month member subscription for my grading present. At this point I was at level 65.

When I turned to be a member I raised my level up into the 30 - 40\'s for member only skills (thievin, hunting, slaying, etc).

Then school started again, this time I was in 7th grade and I was around level 75. I had played for so much during that summer my skin was fairly pale with barely if any tan.

For some reason, I will never know. Is that it seemed like the majority of players who were playing RS in my school the previous year seemed to have quit it due to boredom.

However, I still had 2 or 3 close friends in real life who would still play the game. Mostly we would go pking.

Then I used my leftover birthday money to extend my membership to another 6 months.

Nothing really happened from Sept 2007 - Dec 2007. Then came January of 2008. By this point all of my friends IRL quit the game to start playing another free mmo (FlyFF).

So me and my brother quit sometime in April - May 2008. We quit due to boredom and my membership expired so it was a good time to quit. I was level 93 when I quit.

So as of Oct, 2009. How am I doing? Well ever since I quit I\'ve occassionally logged on. Just a couple of months ago I had a drop party and gave away all my stuff and I changed my password to random letters.

So that pretty much prevents me from returning to that addicting game. I now play Basketball, I bike more often and I recently got into the Tech Crew at my school and I recently got into Airsoft.

For those thinking about quiting, how old are you? If you are a teenager of a pre teen for that matter and you are playing Runescape 3 hours a day, you are missing out on the best times of your life!

It many not seem like it now, but when you get older you\'re gonna regret playing that game so often when you could be doing stuff with your friends (IN THE REAL WORLD).

Anyways, that\'s my story. To those that got this far I congratulate you on reading it.

Well I think addiction is any runescape player who likes to showoff all their work of repetitive clicking, follows 'girl' characters (yeah right), says noob more than they should which is a funny thing since they're computer geeks in the real world and skills all day like fletching, mining, definitely runecrafting, and especially woodcutting. Funny thing is : They're useless in real life.

Well if you're in a relationship with him you have to meet in the middle. I completely understand your situation. Why is a game so much more important to him than you are? Men are competitive. They enjoy competing with other men and its natural. You really need to sit down, talk to him and explain how you feel. You can't make him quit but you have to urge him to spend less time on it. Find that middle ground so you both can be happy. If he can't negotiate with you than move on. Instead of enjoying the comfort of a beautiful woman he can enjoy a digital sausage fest and sleep alone.

I am not a rs player, but I need some help in figuring out how to tell some one I love that they have an addiction to rs. My boyfriend is in his thirties and plays rs every chance he gets. He will play from mid afternoon until about 9 am everyday. He will even log in while he is at work. We have had some serious fights about this and its getting to the point to where I feel that I will have to tell him it\'s rs or me. I hope someone has a better idea that will make him understand he has a problem because honestly I think he\'ll pick rs.

look....it's about people's personal choice. If they wish to play RS for how many hours a day, then that may be whatsoever they choose. Just dont tell people to quit just because you have.

IT'S SAD TRYING TO INFLUENCE PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE SAYING RS HAS.

HYPOCRITES!

And i play lots of sports talk on ms but i cant get out of the house other than when im practicing playing sports otherwise ur stuck at home with nothing to do. Thats the only reason why im on here cuz i got nothing else to do but to tell u i play runescape and its not addicting at all

Hello, <br />
I used to play RS but I have quit about a year ago. I personally find RS a boring game, but that's just my opinion. I believe that if you want to play RS, you have every right, but you should try to limit yourself. Playing all day is certainly not good, but if you play about 1 hour a day, it cant harm you. The same with any other video game. You should also do at least 30 minutes to an hour of physical activity a day. Eating properly, for example fruits and vegetables are also good for you. If you choose to snack during your play time, please don't eat junk food like chips or candy, but try fruits and dairy products and grains. I hope this is helpful to anyone who has RS addiction.

So for those of you who want to tell people about Jesus Christ then ADD the USER NAME "Jtl 1" or "Pk Jtlnoob" to your FRIENDS LIST or type it in on CLAN WARS CHAT and if I am on that day then just tell me you want to tell others about Jesus Christ on Runescape and I will meet up with you so we can go tell others about him okay. =)
