The Underlying Truth About Latino Illegal Immigration
In reality, there are many reasons why America needs illegal immigrants and why fighting against it is unprofitable.
Numbers Talk
Once upon a time there was a land known as America; the land of opportunity and it is said that it was built by immigrants… “The American Dream” is the phrase that better describes this opportunity for many Latino immigrants who come to this country pursuing a better life for their families, escaping a country that doesn’t offer them the lifestyle they dream of.
Latinos are not only the biggest minority group in the country, but also the one that is growing faster, more than any other minority group in the U.S., because several hundred thousand Latinos enter the United States each year, many of them illegally. Currently there are almost forty million Latinos living in the U.S., 37 million are legal aliens, and 10 million of them are illegally living and working here. Also, is important to say that Latino is not a race but an ethnic group that includes several origins as well as several racial treats. (Henslin, 2007)
Minuteman
As a result of propaganda and cultural misconceptions, many Americans had developed an aversion to Latinos, even though most of them are legally living here. This group of Americans called the Minuteman had raised a controversy about “how” illegal immigrants should be taken care of. However, despite of this group’s work, the illegal immigration will continue as long as their labor is solicited.
Moreover, the Minuteman are seen as racist people that enjoy hunting men across deserts, fact that many U.S. officials are embarrassed of and totally disapprove. That’s why the congress is working along with Latino leaders to find a solution that benefits both parties: Latinos and Americans.
Yes, Benefits for All
The question many people ask is why? Why bother creating laws to legalize the illegal? Many Americans I’ve spoken to, say the solution is sending back all of those without documents. What they don’t realize is that thanks to many Latinos “we are able to have, albeit illegally, child care for our children, elder care for our parents, have our lawns mowed, our nails manicured, our roofs re-shingled, our trees trimmed, our stone walls built, our restaurant meals prepared and served, and our homes cleaned, at prices that are within reach of most of us, thanks to the immigrants” (Warner Cooper 2007)
However, if we go back in history, Latinos have been in this country even before the first European settlers became Americans. The Mexican villages that inhabited California and Texas were part of Mexico before they became frontier during the 19th century in the Mexican-American war. So we can say then, California and Texas are not invaded by Mexicans, but in fact, they have been there for generations. Of course, things have changed since, when illegal immigration became a big social, political and a less known economical issue.

So, there should be laws protecting “illegals?” That is crap. Umm they are breaking our laws. We shouldn’t support criminals. They make a mockery of those that stand in line and do it legally.

In my opinion a criminal is someone who kills or steal. This people just want to have a better life, that isn’t a crime or is it?

I agree, they just want a better life, but this should stop now…there are way to many illegals already, and we should enforce law to make sure there aren’t more coming up

Here legally

Those who come here illegally, cast a shadow on those of us who are here in compliance with US (and international) law. When the character of a great nation like the US is tarnished by such actions and the resultant unpopular response, we are all harmed.

Too many people in the world. Rapidly expanding human population. True, everyone wants a better life, but if you don’t control a country’s immigration and population growth, it all goes down the drain. Dawn of mankind to 1820 before there are 1 billion people. About a hundred years to reach 2 billion. 4 billion by 1974… 6 billion by 1999… 7 billion around 2012… Projected 9 billion in about 33 years. This is a huge problem… U.S. projected to have another 100 million people in about 30 years because of mass immigration which has been and is happening. This makes this country a worse place for everyone. It is not OK to let this continue.

yes that is right we come here to find a better life. i am still in high school. i came here when i was 8. my life has changed a lot, i came here to find an education. because in mexico or in any other latino country we cant afford an education. and my parents are also here. they didnt have good jobs in mexico like they do now here in the U.S. when we lived in mexico we didnt have much too eat, we didnt have much to wear. its pretty sad what we had to live through. but now i am happy with what i have. i am glad that we are. because now we have a good house with a good roof, we have a car to ride to school, instead of walking miles from your house to school like i use to. my parent have good jobs. we have food to eat EVERYDAY. this is why we come.

I notice u didn’t talk about all the violence that goes with illegal immigrants, and their racist behaviors towards blacks in this country. If u want to try and preach something, make sure you get all the facts, because more than half the members in these Mexican gangs across the country are illegal immigrants, but nobody wants to speak on that, and can somebody answer me this, why is it that every Latino person I meet talks about how they miss their country, or how much they hate living here. I don’t get it if you don’t want to live here, why do people keep sneaking across the border? Just stay home if you have a problem with America.

R u serious america wouldnt be able to work with out illigals i mean fist they tried to use the native americans to do the work they didnt want to do which was work in the fields but they couldnt stand the work so then came the african american slaves who got taken away from their native land to do their work then slavery was banned so when hispanics started comming they started make n those beaners do their work so the truth is the gringos from america couldnt survive unless they had other people besides americans and them selfs.

For all of you “dont speak for me” or “minutemen” or just plain racist dumbasses, legal immigrants ARE the ones who take away YOUR jobs. A graduate from college could be working in the place of an immigrant from india working in Silicon Valley with computers. An American could also be working in businesses but there are legal immigrants from Europe in their place. An American could be working as a teacher but there is a teacher from Asia in his/her place (my physics teacher is from the Phillipines, with a visa). A Hispanic-American who is bilingual could teach spanish, but they have to bring teachers from Latin America, again, legally. The list goes on. However, an illegal working in the fields does not take away the job of an American, because Americans wont work on the fields. An illegal immigrant working cleaning the toilets in a restaurant wont take a job from an American, once again, because Americans dont do this. AND illegals cannot take away upper-level jobs because they cannot go to college. Americans shouldnt complain about gangs because sureños and norteños kill themselves only. so before you say one more time if illegals take away your jobs, think again. Oh and by the way illegals do pay taxes because eventually sooner or later in their lifetime they will go to the store to buy something, and others like my parents actually request an ITIN from the IRS that they happily give out so that they could pay their taxes every year. OH and something i forgot is that illegals do not receive benefits from the government because they dont have a social security number, and with the taxes that they pay that i told you folks about earlier they actually pay for the benefits and retirenment of Americans. So with this being said, i hope that a few of you will notice the contributions of undocumented immigrants to the most powerful country in thw world.
