Case Study: Past Life Hypnotism

A study in past life research through meditative relaxation.

Back when I was in high school, my friends and I did a series of past life hypnotism sessions. This is the only one where the details have stuck with me for these 15 plus years, all of my notes were lost in a house fire 10 year ago. These sessions involved a speaker whose role was to walk the subject into a deep relaxed state bordering on a meditative state. This is not a suggestive hypnotism where you have a semblance of control overa persons actions. The speaker, after ascertaining that the subject was relaxed, would create a door in the subject’s mind. When this door was opened the subject would be directed into a room that could contain items or visions of a past life. The speaker would then question the subject about these visions and items. We would try to have a third person who acted as a witness and note taker. In this role they would write all questions asked and keep track of the subjects responses. If no witness was available then the speaker would also act as note taker. In the discussion of the following case study I will be changing the names of the participants.

For this case study I was the speaker, John was the subject, and Jeff was the witness. I started, as I always did, by walking John into a deep relaxation. Once I was convinced that he was ready for the entry into his subconscious awareness of his past life, I put the door in front of him and had him walk in. What happened then was a total surprise. Instead of staying relaxed and telling what he saw, he started to act as if he could not breath. His face quickly started to turn red as he unsuccessfully struggled for breath. I was trying to call him out of the meditative state that he was in by telling him that what he was seeing was not physically happening at the time. When, after a couple of minutes, I noticed this was not working I started calling his name while Jeff was attempting to shake him into the present. After about 5-6 minutes that seemed like forever John suddenly became very relaxed again. His breathing was normal, he was not showing any signs of a shortage of breath, so I decided to keep him in the meditation and find out where he was.
