Case Study: Past Life Hypnotism

A study in past life research through meditative relaxation.

My first question was where was he. He said his spirit was floating over his body. I asked why he was above his body and his response was that he was just hung from a gallows with 3 other people, one of which was a woman. I wanted to be able to research this scenario so my next question was to find out why these 4 people were being hung. The shocking answer was that they had helped plan the assassination of a president. Still sceptical about what I was hearing I asked for his name. The name I was given was Lewis Powell. I then found out that the woman’s name was Mary, I was never given a last name for hr or names of the other 2 people on the scaffolding. After receiving the name of Mary, I, as speaker, lost control of the direction John was going. He was describing this sensation of floating when he suddenly jumped out of the meditation, instead of allowing me to walk him out. He was slightly shaking and his heart was racing after his abrupt end to the session. I gave him a few minutes to calm down before seeing if he could recall anything that went on in his meditative state. He couldn’t remember anything that had happened and was shocked when told of how he seemed to be suffocating and the following things that he related.

John wasn’t interested in history, but he was curious about the people he mentioned. His knowledge of history was limited so there was no way he could have known who Lewis Powell was or the circumstances of his execution. I went to the library to research the events of John’s narrative and found out that Lewis Powell had been one of the Lincoln Conspirators and that it was Lewis Powell that had attacked Secretary of State Seward in his home the night Lincoln was assassinated. Further research showed that there was 4 people on the scaffolding including one female, Mary Surrat. I was even able to find a picture from the execution. My surprise was nothing to what John felt when I showed him the result of my research, he was speechless, and I think a little ashamed at having had anything to do with assassinating President Lincoln. This case study had a few implications for me. First was the fear of what could have happened while John was not able to breathe. Second was the way I could find the history to back up what was said, which we could not always do, especially with the amount of details available. While I know this is hard to believe, it is a true and accurate account of what happened. It is now up to you, the reader to decide if you want to believe in what you have read or not.
