Discover Your Color Personality

Intuitively we know which colors we feel happiest wearing, we are drawn to those that make us feel and look our best. It appears that worldwide we predominantly fit into four different personality categories, based on where we live and our natural hair, skin and eye color tones. With this simple guide you can decide for yourself where you fit into the color wheel of the year!

They are very much rooted in the physical world and personal possessions mean a great deal to them, they can if they are not careful develop a materialistic streak. They love quality opposed to quantity and buy items that will last, this goes for anything else in their surroundings such as furniture and electrical goods.

They are very tactile people and this is also seen in their choice of fabrics. They love textures in their clothes, such as raw silk, linen, and tweed, the feel of the material is very important, although age and personal preferences will dictate favourite fabric choices.

Colours that attract group 3 are of a subtle blend, no harsh primary colours here, so we are looking at; golden yellow, burnt orange, warm terracotta, tomato red, dramatic vermilion, rich aubergine, petrol blue, olive green, moss green  with toning colours in different hues of brown.

Some autumn people you may recognize are; Germaine Greer, Bob Geldof and Sir David Frost.

Group 4: Winter

As the wheel of the year completes its cycle, and a blanket of snow turns the land into a stark crisp clean winter wonderland, we channel our energies inward and draw on our inner strengths. When we think of winter colours we imagine the purity of fresh white snow, bright crisp blue skies, with stark, bare, black trees creating a dramatic tree line along the horizon. Group 4 people are to be found mostly in the Middle East and the Orient. These are a very striking group of people, demanding and receiving immediate respect wherever they go, instantly taking control of situations.

In appearance they are just as striking, with well defined features and piercing eyes. They are more likely to be blonde or brunette, almost never redheaded. These are people who wield power and are very charismatic. They are fond of always looking for the bigger picture in a situation and are efficient at managing their time wisely, delegating to others when necessary and single minded to a fault. The rest of their lifestyle also reflects this; they despise clutter and love everything to be well ordered and precise. They don’t suffer fools gladly, and may come across as being rather sarcastic on occasion. They have no time for anyone not of their mindset; they find it difficult to interact emotionally and may come across as cold, remote and uncaring. They do care but often deem it inappropriate to show their emotions.

Career wise they shine at the top and are often to be found in positions of power or influence such as;  government, finance, entertainment,  PR, legal professions, medical careers especially as surgeons.

They are very attracted to sleek lines, glossy, glass or chrome surfaces in their home and work place. This is also reflected in their choice of clothes, they are most draw to fabric such as pure silk and satin. They are dramatic but in an understated way, just by wearing a simple but elegant (and highly expensive designer) suit or dress they can turn heads.

Their choice of colours can be rather limited as they would happily live the year round in crisp white, dramatic black and all shades of grey in between, to reflect their winter personalities. Although rarely wearing other colours top to toe they often accessorise with equally dramatic, bold, statement colours such as; crimson, bright orange, magenta, deep purple, royal blue, midnight blue, jade green, emerald green, and lemon yellow.

Some winter people you may recognize are; Margaret Thatcher, Gordon Brown, Sean Connery, and Diana Ross.

So which one are you?

Enjoyed your article. I have often focused on the color gray not to over-distract from your piece across the spectrum of our multicolored world. I have often wondered, whether we like it or not, if gray is not the most representative color of everything that there is. A kind of ultimate amalgam!

    Enjoy regardless!
