Essence of Life
A reflection of tranquil imagery.
Essence of Life
The wind blows softly through the trees, it circles around, a gust of echoes resounds, swiftly through the eaves.
Rain pelts down on the tin roof, the sweet scent of rain and blossoms of spring drift through my bedroom window.
The scent caresses my nose and tantalises me with memories of spring days, a picture forms itself in my mind, and piece-by-piece like a jigsaw puzzle, it arranges itself.
A pleasant array of dappled sunlight- on maple tree leaves.. lining a still lake.. in a quiet forest.
As I walk I approach the sound of a nearby waterfall. Cascading water rushes over the jagged rocks, rock pools quietly burble and wildlife cries
“Come see this magnificent sight.”
I come to the opening of the clearing, between the forest and the waterfall…I gasp, for I behold a breathtaking sight. A glen resembling a fairy dell- moss carpeted ground, toadstool seats, trees you could carve a home into the centre. A dragonfly lands on a giant boulder in front of me; it’s transparent wings reflect rainbows as they flutter and drum an incessant humming sound. Butterflies dance through the air- forming shadow patterns on leaves- in the dappled sunlight. Bees buzz and land on flowers- collecting their nectar, crickets and frogs sound out their unusual symphonic orchestra. Lilting timing with a melodic rhythm, they compliment the life of the fairy glen. I lie down on a bed of moss carpet and use giant leaves to cover myself like a blanket. Snug as a bug in a rug, a fairy at home in her dell- Sweet Dreams…
