Exploding the Myths Surrounding Kabbalah
Kabbalah has come in from some pretty bad press over the years. Often when people hear the term Kabbalah, visions of red strings, celebrities such as Madonna and Britney spring to mind and even thoughts of brainwashing cults. Yes there is good and bad in any organization, religion or belief system. But the truth is far removed from that. I have been working with Kabbalah for long while now and have found it a most amazing life changing system. It is not a religion in itself, although it is incorporated into the Jewish faith. As it is based on scientific principles it can work alongside anyone’s religion or belief system. Kabbalah strips away the layers of ego, negative programming and re-educates to promote a more proactive way of thinking and approaching life.

Kabbalah doesn’t deny the existence of problems; many practises seem to believe that sitting in a corner mediating with a serene look on your face and thinking happy thoughts will make everything go swimmingly in your life. That isn’t the reason we are here though, we are here to grow and mature mentally, emotionally as well as spiritually. Kabbalah challenges you to confront your worst traits, and instead of a “woe is me” approach to a bad day, Kabbalah revels in these opportunities for self growth. These times may be a bad day for the ego, but a good day for the soul.
Kabbalists believe that there are many curtains hiding the light of enlightenment from us, and by confronting our negative traits and behaviour patterns, not reacting to life’s situations, but pro-acting instead, we can tear down these curtains and reveal the real world. It is believed that we live in the 1% realm in our physical world filled with illusions, but when we tear down these curtain, barriers, call it what you will, we step into the realm of the 99%. We live our live in flow with the universe, not fighting against it. The light is always there guiding us, we are never alone on our journey. Just as turning on the light in a darkened room reveals our surroundings, Kabbalah tears down the curtains hiding the light of enlightenment from us, exposing our true beauty and divinity.
We learn that we are all one, each of us is not the separate entity we believe that we are and that whenever we harm another, in thought, word or deed, will only ultimately harm ourselves. When we put others first, show unconditional love and compassion, it is returned multiplied. At our most challenging points in life, our true strength is revealed, when life flows by easily, it is too easy to become stuck in a rut. When we look back at hardships and challenges that really stretched us, we see then just what we are capable of. Life is in a constant flux of change, nothing ever stays the same. We are constantly evolving, recreating new versions of ourselves with every thought and action. We owe it to ourselves to create the best version we can.
Scanning the God names, is an important part of Kabbalah training, as is studying the Zohar, and can help and support us in areas of our lives we need help with. Kabbalah doesn’t necessarily give you what you want, but it will give you what your soul needs. Scanning the God names vibrationally activates and works upon many different levels and dimensions. Kabbalah is divinity within an energetic framework. It is a usable system for change within the very substance our world. If we think in terms of computing, imagine if you will, that you are living within a software environment and the only way to change things is by changing the program. Kabbalah is an energetic system which enables this. It has been around since the beginning of time and was given to Moses to help transform the lives of so many people. There are a great many ways to change the living world upon which we stand and this used in the correct way can bring us into line with all that we strive to be. As with all things there is a season and a time and nothing can be achieved without work. A building cannot stand strong, without first standing upon a strong foundation. This we must build within ourselves. The work is inward, but achieved by going outward. It is a long journey of self discovery, of truly knowing we you are, and of casting aside the masks we wear to hide our true identity from others as well as ourselves.
It’s too easy to condemn and believe everything we read and hear, we owe it to investigate things for ourselves. By keeping an open mind, we in turn are open to a life filled with possibilities.
