Finding Time to Meditate

Meditation is a very good way to unwind after a stress filled day. Sometimes starting the day off with a good meditation just gets you prepared. Its up to you, to find the time, for you!

With our lives so busy worrying about the kids, the bills, the pets, and the cars; that we barely take time for our self. If you do not take care of yourself, usually no one else will! Meditation is one way to let go of everyday stress, all you need is to find a few minutes, or a half an hour; and just slip away.

If you have been able to travel around the world, you need to focus on your favorite location, and use that to help you meditate. I remember trying to meditate while in Puerto Rico; everyday I chose a different time of day just for me. First off, there is nothing like sitting still listening to the sounds surrounding you as your relax, no sirens from NY, fire trucks like in California, just the sounds of the ocean close by or off in the distance, or the sounds Coques. Coques are like cricket, making a sound constantly, it is said to be their mating call; Coques are not bugs, but somewhat like a frog.

The first day I decided to get up really early, head to the beach, and meditate to the sound of the ocean. This was truly a very pleasant experience, sitting under a palm tree as the sun came over the horizon. The ocean had its pattern and in time I was able to breath to the beat; the ocean’s waves came in, and slowly, and effortlessly departed. I was truly able to start the day off with a soothing relaxing period of “my” time.

Then the next day, I sat off at a distance away from the ocean, under several palm trees, this time it was a little later in the morning. It was still early enough for most to still be sleeping; so as I sat under the palm trees, the sun filtering through, touching different parts of my body as the soft wind blew. I was able to hear the ocean off in the distance, the soft whisper of the palm leaves as they swayed in morning breeze. I was able to bring all the sounds into play, and use them to focus on relaxing each and every muscle, which bought me to a nice level of relaxation. It was very soothing and a rewarding time for me, it gave me the clarity I need to focus on matters of that day. (Photos taken with my own camera while on vacation)
