Finding Time to Meditate
Meditation is a very good way to unwind after a stress filled day. Sometimes starting the day off with a good meditation just gets you prepared. Its up to you, to find the time, for you!
Over next ten days, I chose different times and location, and because the island was so inviting it just made each meditation cycle better in its own way. Nighttime meditation can be tricky since the body is tired and we can fall asleep quite easily. Listening to the ocean off in the distance, while the Coques set out to mate, would set a stage for a wonderful private time; it was so soothing that I did fall asleep one night, laying near the pool, in the mist of many palm trees.
There are of course places that make meditation a bit difficult to stay focused, such as the night that the music was cranked up, or when a new crowd of people swarmed in. They are all excited and talking so loudly. Over time I have learned to block out any unpleasant sounds and just stay focused on what I wanted to focus on.

Toward the end of my stay I decided to take in each sound, scent and sensation and try to somehow commit it to memory. I did a pretty good job, but there was nothing like having the actual sounds, or smells to help one get focused. Going to the store to purchase beach sounds, birdcalls and other sounds of nature have a great affect in your ability to get you to focus on one particular sound. It also blocked out the sounds of sirens, the television or the kids fight. The CD’s I purchased helps to create the mood; giving me the level of relaxation I seek.
So give it a try, you owe it to yourself, to find private time and visualize your favorite location in the world, and if possible create the sounds; and just slip away to your quiet place.
