Imagine that there is a stream. See the stream flowing gently and easily. There is no struggle, nothing to create. The stream is there, moving easily and constantly.

Now see yourself in a canoe or small boat. Sit down and relax. Take a look around you. Inside the canoe is a set of paddles that you brought with you. They are not needed, but your brought them anyway. You place them along each side of the canoe.

Look to the right and left of the stream. Notice the trees, green with foliage and swaying gently in the breeze.

There are also ferns and flowers growing along the banks. You can smell the wonderful scent of them as you gently flow past. You enjoy the vibrant colors against the dark green back ground of trees and shrubs.

As you gently flow down stream you begin seeing birds flying about and some perched in the branches of trees. You hear their songs, celebrations of life and joy echoes from each note.

You feel relaxed. Your breathing is slow and deep, flooding each cell with life force energy.

You begin seeing a sign now and again along the bank of the stream. It says, “Stream of Well Being” and there’s an arrow pointing down stream.

A bit later you notice a sign that says “feeling connected to source energy”. You allow the energy of this message to deepen your feeling of connectedness. You are more relaxed and feeling peaceful and at ease.

You continue to move downstream feeling good and enjoying the ride. A bit later you look over to the bank and see a sign that says, “contrast”. You notice the contrast. There are options here. You see the possibilities of many thoughts, situations and outcomes. You realize that you don’t want some of the options. There is sickness, poverty, war, and you don’t want them. The more you pay attention to these options the more real the become to you. You begin to feel exhausted and frustrated. You look and realize you have picked up the oars and are now trying to paddle upstream.
