Happy 2010 – a Year in Which Many Changes Will Occur

The new decade has begun, we have witnessed the energy of the moon at her height – many cleansing and renewal rituals were performed under her light.

Now is the time for renewal, for careful practicing of your skills. Spiritual energy is still high so please make sure that you ground carefully before performing any work. For those new to the ways this will help: Grounding – the essential spiritual skill

The months of the year have great spiritual significance. January comes from the Roman calendar month Januarius (January), named for Janus, god of beginnings and doorways.

Janus (image click here) is the Roman god of gates and doors (ianua), beginnings and endings, and hence represented with a double-faced head, each looking in opposite directions. He was worshipped at the beginning of the harvest time, planting, marriage, birth, and other types of beginnings, especially the beginnings of important events in a person’s life. Janus also represents the transition between primitive life and civilization, between the countryside and the city, peace and war, and the growing-up of young people.

Now is the time to sow what it is you wish to reap later in the year.

Blessed be
