Labor, Chakras, and Meditation

Becoming a mother is no easy task, but preparing for it just may help things along. As with everything in life, practice makes perfect so is the case with meditation and relaxation methods. If you decide to wait until the very end, you will go in there totally unprepared and probably you wont have the type of birthing experience you were hoping for.

            Going in labor is no easy task, ask any woman and she will tell you the same thing; then she will go on to tell you her story and finally let you know there is nothing else in the world like giving birth. Guess what? She is absolutely correct and as a mother to be, she can instill fears in your that you never knew existed. Keep in mind each woman labor is different, there is now turning back, certain drugs can be dangerous to you as well as your new born, so the best thing to do is learn to go with the flow. In this article it is my attempt to teach you how to clear your chakras and get helpful energy from gemstones or colors. The use of chakras for meditation can and will make all the difference in the world, if you start now. Taking a class or two will never prepare you for the hard work ahead of you, and if you don’t practice then you just wasted time at these classes, and you won’t be prepared. A good birth starts with a prepared mother to be.

            It is great to have a partner, or best friend to work with you so that you have some one to aid you through each step of meditation. Chakras are great for meditation, but before I begin let me tell you there are two “chakras systems” that people use; some use stones and others use color. Colors are widely used because they can be obtained or pictured more easily; so let me explain the two systems.

            Stones are gems of the earth they contain energy that can the help you harness the power to so you can reach a level of relaxation to help take your mind off of what is going on around and within you. Starting with the Citrine stone, we focus on relaxing the top of our head; imagine the yellowish gem on top of your head, focus. Imagine the yellow just flowing down, over the crown of your head, just about to break through you hairline.  Now your going to think about Amethyst, a purplish stone that will help you relax your face muscles, starting with your eyes, to your ears, nose, mouth and chin; stay focused. After you have that under your control, move on down to your throat by bring turquoise into you mind, the relaxing blue gem. During labor it is all right to moan and groan, so by clearing your throat chakra, it will enable you to vocalize sounds, which by letting these sounds escape your lips, slowly and calmly you will be able to relax.
