Prayer Being
Prayer is more than something you do, prayer is who you are!
Transformation from sheep to shepherd or coverer, or instructor, or restorer, or repairer happens in the fullness of time for each sheep that comes to this knowing and being-ness. Some sheep simply wander from pasture to pasture grazing and feeding forever. They don’t know or see how they can “be” anything else. They don’t want to hear anything about “being” different than the wanderer, feeder mentality.
Some people, jump into a position that God has called them to, and is still preparing them for, and burn out after too much to soon. They become overwhelmed with the weight of being touched with the feelings of the peoples’ infirmities before being anointed and sent out.
Prayer-Being is all about growing and learning, and rejoicing and knowing. Oneness with God, this is the basic foundation of and for Prayer-Life.

“Draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you”
Introduction – Just to Clarify Again
Over the years, growing with Jesus, prayer has become life itself. Personal and unassuming, like breathing, and more. Much to my amazement, I have found that prayer is spiritually natural for our new life, as breathing is for our physical life. And Prayer grows to be as intimate. Continuing to grow in intimacy from the first breath of new birth, through the discovery of talking, walking, running and even playing with the Shepherd; and then on into the first kiss by the beloved! This is an awesome life!
In this view, prayer is more than a function one does that is viewed as “good” or “holy”, and instead becomes an integral part of our life new life in Jesus. New Life that has no limits, only increasingly new and dynamic adventures.
It has been surprising to “grow” in prayer, and exciting. The discipline grows the more you learn, and you become tough and tougher and toughest – spiritually speaking!
There are no “belts” given in the prayer discipline as in some physical disciplines, but there is authority and that is amazing in itself. This authority is not active through arrogance, or mental stepping (quoting the Word as if it was supposed to “do”, or copying what someone else has done (this is not mentoring) or whatever methods have come and gone throughout the ages. This authority is active through humility, and that is not a work of our own, but it is keyed to our choice of dying to self (more on this as we grow in our prayer life)!
