River Trail Solace

Take a leisure walk along a river trail to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Let your imagination go as you walk along a peaceful river trail.  Take a deep breath, and relax.  Some people like to walk, run, ride their bicycle, or use inline skates for exercise.  When I walk along my favorite river trail, I like to exercise my imagination.  Sometimes I plot out my next book, or try to figure out how to move a story along.  At times, I have written a complete poem in my head.  The peace and quiet of walking along a quiet river allows my creativity to flow, and also feels good for my body at the same time.  Some parts of the trail are sunny and bright, while others are shadowed and cool.

No matter what time of day you decide to walk, make sure you are carrying plenty of water to hydrate yourself.  Wear comfortable shoes, and loose clothing to give you comfort.  Let yourself relax.  Think of things that bring you peace.  Why not make your walk your time of solace?   I use the Kalamazoo River for mine.

Good write. I walk to the mailbox and back each day (120 feet one way) barefooted. Alone. Walking alongside your river would be more enjoyable.
