Some Thoughts on Recovery
These are just some thoughts I had about Recovery.
Image via Wikipedia
Step One: We admitted that we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviour: That our lives had become unmanageable.
I know that nothing good lives in me, That is, In my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good but I cannot carry it out.
Recovery is a hard process to go through. It is hard to admit we are powerless over things.
I am so grateful to be in a recovery program where there are people who understand what I am going through.
I am grateful that God is bringing me out of my “old patterns” and addictions and renewing my body, soul, and mind.
It is not easy to give up the “Old,” to start fresh and be made new. There is a lot of pain in facing yourself and in changing for the better, but if you want to get better just take it one day at a time and rely on the strength of others not to let you fall.
Pray continually without ceasing. This will get you through the day.
Find a Sponsor. A Sponsor who will support you and will be there to help you when the times get rough.
Trust God to get you through the rough times. To renew your mind and spirit, to make you new.

Carrie, you may have to work hard to change some of the things that you don’t like about your life, but it can be done; and You have the power to do it. So stay focused, keep your inspiration up by writing. Great to see you back. Continue to share.
Monica.

Carrie, I know a little about recovery as well. Never forget the Serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.
God bless you, Lady.

If you could see me now, I’m applauding you. We who are the innocence or we think we are, we are captured in one way or another. We to are in recovery but we are to ashamed to face our own mirror. You are stepin gout on FAITH and understanding that YOU are POWERLESS. What a wonderful testimony. Praise God for he is watching over you and He will be the one that will get you through these trying times. Its true that a sponsor is good to have, your going to have those midnight hours and even if the sponsor can do anything, it’s good to have some one to lean on. I have to say from the bottom of my heart, that I’m PROUD of you, one for sharing, two for having FAITH and three the courage to let us know that your human. God bless you and if there is anything I can do, please let me know.
You friend Mizterman
