The Trinity of Forgiveness
When we have just survived a traumatic event, through seemingly no fault of our own, it can be a difficult to overcome the anger, bitterness and resentment in our hearts. To truly free ourselves we need to step back and view what has happened with compassion, love and forgiveness.
Often when we are feeling betrayed, forgiveness is the last thing on our mind. Why is forgiveness important? It is important for three reasons:
The first of the trinity is that to feel forgiveness is to feel divinity, for it is a God like trait and one to be cultivated, like a scarlet rose. When we let go of what has happened we transcend our burden of hatred, allowing us to see the person or situation in a new light. As we raise our vibrations by opening ourselves to love and forgiveness, we move out of the negative energy spiralling around us and attract good vibrations and positivity into our life.
The second of the trinity; forgiveness when a wrong has been handed to you by another, you must not seek retribution, you must open your heart to the other and you say ‘I do not know why you have done this thing to me, but I will not dwell on it, instead I will open my heart and embrace you as I would a loved one.’ So often we are so blinkered by our perception of what has happened, we don’t even bother to take a look at all the contributing factors, at the part we may have played in the drama.
The third of the trinity of forgiveness; without forgiveness in your heart there is room for bitterness, resentment and hate. So to prevent this, fill your heart with love and forgiveness, also charity and mercy. Only then will you taste true happiness and freedom from your negative emotions. Everything we do or say, good or bad emits its own vibrational frequency; this attracts other similar people or situations vibrating at that level to us. By stepping away from the situation you are removing yourself from the repercussions. We don’t need to actively seek retribution as the seeds they have sewn will also ripen accordingly.
This applies to exchanges that have happened recently as well as many years ago. It is possible to cut these negative ties even with those who have passed away. If it isn’t possible to meet the person face to face, or you would be putting yourself in a dangerous or vulnerable position, you can do this by performing a cord cutting ceremony.

I agree with you, hatred hurts you more than anyone else. You can’t hold onto hatred.
