Learning Tarot
When you first start to learn the tarot it can be quite difficult to understand the cards as there are so many different ideas as to what the cards mean. For instance in one book you may read that a certain card means riches and gifts yet another book may suggest the same card means something opposite or completely different. So how do you know which is the correct answer?
Interpreting the Cards
As a professional Tarot reader and having studied my craft over many years I can categorically state that the most important part of learning the tarot is to understand the very basics of the Major Arcana cards and then follow your own intuition. You may find for instance that although you know a certain cards foretells upsets that when you are reading the card for a client that you do not feel that in this case it is relevant for this person. This is why when learning the tarot it is not just about learning and remembering the cards. You will also need to get in touch with your spiritual nature so that you will be more aware of the feelings that the cards evoke rather than just rhyming off the meanings parrot fashion.
Taking a Course in Tarot Reading
A lot of people learn tarot by themselves either reading from books or just playing about with the cards. However there is now the opportunity to learn tarot as a profession. A good tarot course will not only teach you how to read and understand the cards but will show you how to do a selection of different layouts known as spreads which are useful when you are faced with often difficult questions. It will also teach you about how to time the cards so you know when a possible event that is being revealed by the tarot will take place, for instance will it be this year, next month or next week?
