Generation Liar

Have you ever noticed we are all surrounded by and in voluntarilary or non-voluntarily in lies? Whether yourself, your lover, family, co-workers, bosses, strangers, “POLITICIANS” possibly our religions and yes even Reality TV.

I myself have been involved in many lies throughout my 34 years of life. Either by telling them or being told them. My justification for my lies at times has been to stay out of trouble when I was younger and as I aged it became less about that and more about avoiding confrontation, heartache for myself or others and sometimes just to avoid headaches. As a parent I tell what we call little white lies, mostly to our children. Sometimes so they stop crying or asking who, what, when, why and where or to get them to do something we want them to do or something they don’t want to do.

Your lover may lie to you to protect you from heartache or so they can live another life away from you. Strangers lie to you at times maybe to harm you or laugh at you. They may even lie, because they don’t what to admit they don’t know the answer to the question asked of them.

It has been said that every time a politician opens their mouths they are lying. With the state of the world today this statement is hard to dispute. Large companies lie to the government to receive money. The government then lies its people in saying these monies are necessary, but yet don’t know exactly where these monies are going to.

Your religion may even be lying to you. Do we know for a fact that the book that our religion follows is true in any sense of the word? Is faith lying to you? This is one truth or lie that we won’t know the answer to until we meet our end.

Yes, even reality TV lies to us. From the set-up meetings, to fake romances, fights, confrontations and reconciliations. Our guilty pleasure can’t even provide us with truth.

We live in and around a world of lies and this may never change. I just hope when truth is needed I/we can provide it when it is TRULY necessary.
